A bunch of assistants fired too. I don’t think anyone is too surprised, though I’d be calling the GMs head too. All he’s ever done there is make their strength(offense) stronger and does Jack shit to address their needs(pitching and defense)

I wonder how many years they have to eat.

Maybe just eliminate the entire city and all their sports teams.
The Office Yes GIF

I would can the GM before Girardi.
Girardi did himself no favors, but if you have a bad bullpen, no manager is gonna magically fix it. Pitching hasn’t been good, defense has been bad, especially with Schwarber and Castelannos forced to play the field with Harper having to DH. The way the roster is constructed, they need to score 7 per game to win, and that’s a big ask for any lineup, and their lineup as a whole has underperformed(which I do expect to pick up)

Team batting average of .245.

Bad defense.

The BP sucks.

Manager is the fall guy,

Charlie Manuel would have been a decent interim manager.

He would also leave Castellanos out in the field in the top half knowing he was going to use Roman Quinn to pinch run for him in the bottom half of an extra inning game. Would constantly have the bull pen guys do wrap around inning bringing in people in high leverage situations they had no business being in and then use an excuse in how he operates that he immediately deviates from the next game.

was flipping through the channels the other day and stopped on the phillies/mets game. watched the mets hit some looping single to put runners at the corners, then hit a 3 run HR on a pitch thrown inside to a pull hitter with 2 strikes. Kept changing channels.
