Joe Girardi out in Philly

When a team spends like the Phillies have the last few off seasons, ownership is gonna expect results, and when those results don’t come, the manager is gonna be the first to go

I hope they don't hire Mike Shildt, I don't want to start having to hate him.

If I’m the Phillies I unload everyone but Harper at the deadline/offseason and start over. It worked for the Braves, Cubs, and Astros. It’s hard to win a title without a strong homegrown core….Phillies need to rebuild their Minor Leagues.

They just spent over 200 million the last off-season. Zero chance they rebuild. They should have done a proper rebuild back when we started ours. They half assed it and this is what you look like coming off a half assed rebuild.

A bunch of assistants fired too. I don’t think anyone is too surprised, though I’d be calling the GMs head too. All he’s ever done there is make their strength(offense) stronger and does Jack shit to address their needs(pitching and defense)

I’ll admit I have some issue with Dombrowski here. He went and loaded up on offense, but has done nothing but cheap band aids on the one part of the team his manager struggles with. That….doesn’t make sense.

I’ll agree I have issue with it, but no where near grave enough to call for Dombrowskis head.

If I were a Phillies fan, I would be. How many years has the pen sucked now?

And might be a hot take, but I think there’s a reason the Nats never got out of the NLDS with Harper, but won the World Series the first year he was out of their clubhouse

I could be mistaken (probably because I’m making this up on the spot with absolutely no research), but I don’t think any MLB team has ever won the World Series with a guy named Bryce on the roster.

There was a peckerwood named Bryse(stupid spelling, I know) that got a WS ring last year, but was traded to the Pirates for who was supposed to be our closer, but wound up being left off the postseason roster and is now serving a PED suspension and that Bryse is one of the worst starting pitchers in the league for the Pirates this year

Wilson and Wright were basically the same guy until this year

Wilson in 2022: 7.53 ERA, 1.7 K:BB, 1.78 WHIP
Wright in 2022: 2.41 ERA, 2.9 K:BB, 1.07 WHIP

AA knows what he's doing

I wouldn't expect a proper teardown with Dombrowski at the helm.

While I can see one player wrecking a clubhouse, I’ve never seen that in Harper. And, don’t forget, I once hated him as much as the rest. At any rate, doesn’t matter, he’s ours.

Bullpen ha been an utter disaster for…..just years and years. Didn’t manage the farm right and no one is spending “stupid money” on it. Given the time I think Dombrowski fixes it.

Hell, maybe he was never all in on Joe so why fix the one glaring area for Joe right away? Who knows.

Did he not embrace domestic battery or something??

Maybe just eliminate the entire city and all their sports teams.
Best thing I've read on the internet in some time.

He's a great asshole.

Harper is a known cancer.
