Yeah, I'm not about killing everything I consider a nuisance. Unless they are spiders...fuck those guys.

But I'd just want to get them out. We bought these solar powered noise things that were supposed to help annoy them to leave. But so far hasn't worked. They've adapted and are now stronger for it.
We don’t have gophers we have ground hogs. I don’t mind when they stick to the wood line, but when they tunnel near the house they can be a big problem. Filling in the holes is useless I won’t kill just anything either just bugs when they get in the house. Fortunately they are dormant during the winter.

I’ll ask my sister what they do for landscaping next time I talk to her. I’m guessing you still live in the same area as them. They’re really good with that stuff. We have the same problem as @Centerfield17 here our grass grows like wildfire. It’s hard to keep up with.

If you have enough 'skeeters, you'll welcome all the bats to live around you. I have 6 bat houses around my out buildings. Love sitting out back at dusk and watching them.
We have bay houses hung for this reason. Bats are awesome when it comes to keeping skeeters down.

I'm not speaking for anyone else but the drafts are boring now, without conversation what's the point, it's the same people doing the same drafts over and over. I do agree with Sushi about the politics conversation but in all honesty at this point if you are supporting the current administration you should be ashamed of yourself! I know that was uncalled for!! I do agree with Ben that when Ritzy and Savali were with us there was much more conversation, Ritz was literally here 15 hours a day and Savali always kept us included in his family and the boys lives, fuck I miss that bastid! But it's pretty sad that without them we don't talk at all. Ritzy text me a couple weeks ago asking if I had a fantasy football league he could join this year. So far we have Shane, 500, Ducey, Orlando, Ritzy, Stoke, Femur and myself in the league on fantrax, it's a money keeper league. I wish more of you would join.

Back when I started doing drafts on CBS like 15 years ago, we did a MLB trade challenge, we each take a team (usually) a team that would be in the hunt for a playoff spot and another team that would struggle and we would trade with others in the league, to trade and improve our good team for a playoff run and then also trade our vets from our bad team for prospects and we would vote on who did the best job of helping their good team and who did the best job of obtaining prospects for the future of their less than good team. Honestly that's what got me so into minor league ball, I did so much research back then on minor league players it was fun, i'd love to try that again at some point. I think Smitty and 500 might remember when I ran those on CBS.

I don't want the drafts to die but we need to come up with other ideas, also don't be mad about my political jab Sushi! Love ya brother!!
You know how much I miss Wlk3. We used to text back and forth all the time especially when SC was playing. Miss Ritzy too I may want to join if you want to send me the link and info to the league. But I may name my team the bats haha.

I get life changes but even if I can’t post like I used to. One thing always remains the same the mock draft group will always be family. y’all all are just different

Well, I may be looking at this differently - but you're seeing nearly a month's posts compared to a week's. The first pick of that draft was made November 14th and the final pick was December 4. With constant check ins and a slower pace - people were freer to talk. I'm sure that nearly 1/10th of those posts were complaints about waiting so long for someone.

On top of that, there's nearly 5 pages of posts just clarifying the rules of the draft - not something that happens now, as we pretty much understand those rules. Believe me, trying to exploit rules not clarified on the op usually results in "that's been the rule forever". Maybe we need to tweek rules for drafts to make us look at player differently. Implement "best season" rules to make players like Brady Anderson look good. Maybe, dead ball rules (give credit for only 1/4 HRs and boost 3Bs, BA, SB and SH) to limit Barry Bonds' impact. Who knows, probably too complicated, but hey it'll make life interesting.

Yes, there's less sharing of real life events. It's hard to share - especially when 2 of the biggest catalysts for those talks were Ritz and WLK. I mean, I've told nearly no one here that Ruth and I tried to adopt - and that we had to withdraw from this situation when a medical condition had me genuinely fearing I could lose my wife. Things are looking up finally over the last week, but it's been a hard two months. On top of that - I went back to school for my bachelor's and started 3 new jobs in the last 3 years - and plan to start my master's next year. And, I'm sure I'm not the busiest one here.

I see the chat active when there are topics to discuss. Housing market issues tend to be good for a page, at least.

I agree with Shane, maybe doing it no more than once every other month will keep the burn out from happening quite so quickly. Will also allow people time to put something together for more complicated drafts if they know a while in advance.

I'd hate for this to end completely. Ruth would notify y'all if something ever happened to me - right after my parents. That's how high in my regard y'all are. But, I've probably been rambling long enough, and should go to bed.
I believe you have my number stoke you’re always welcome to text anytime when im not online. Even if it’s to talk sports brother

I shoot them.

And call them woodchucks, but they’re the same as ground hogs.

My yard, my parents yard, my grandmas yard, all littered with the shallow graves of woodchuck gun shot victims.

I indiscriminately shoot males. Then the babies. Because I don’t like the idea of starving them to death. I shoot adult females last.

There’s a family with a burrow about 100 yards behind my house, in the unplowed area around an electric pole. Haven’t seen them approach this direction. Which is wise, because they are not welcome here.

I don’t shoot possums, skunks or coons. Prolly should shoot coons, they’re mischievous little buggers. Hell bent on effing stuff up, but they don’t undermine foundations.

Also shoot every coyote I have a shot at. Leave the corpse as a warning to their mangey friends.

I grew up calling them woodchucks. We have about 4-5 burrows. Only saw one of two when we moved here. But I know they had babies. A couple of the holes are pretty close to the house. The other problem is we are in a residential area so shooting them would probably be out anyway. Other than that we have rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks. A fox and a lot of birds. The bats and woodpeckers keep the bugs down. I’ve got a great pic of one of the woodpeckers he’s a big boy. I did eradicate the field mice tho they were coming into the basement during the winter. The hawks help with that too tho.
The worst bugs I’ve seen were down south. Saw some bugs and spiders I didn’t know existed down there.

How have you been Smitty hoping alls been well. We live in some crazy times.

We had a couple burrows right by the house when I bought it. Now it’s just rabbits that live under my deck. Lol. Shit tons of rabbits.

I hear the woodpeckers in the woods nearby doing their thing, but never see em.

Lots of eagles around. But they’ve grown lazy and don’t bother killing anything. They just eat road kill all day.

Life’s good buddy. Real busy, but that’s good too. Haven’t watched TV other than Bball and streaming lately. Keeps the chaos at a minimum. Just finished up with We Own This City today. It’s not The Wire, but it’s close.

The only thing I watch on TV is football and hockey. Anything else is DVD mostly older Tv shows,, Sci go and horror movies. The Wire is awesome.

Ben must be busy at work.

You know at one point I could name the entire Giants roster and half of their AAA squad with additional top prospects at every level. Now I have no idea who have of their team is right now. I’d rather watch Naked and Afraid than baseball.
