Riley Throwing Shade at OU

He couldn't attract SEC talent at OU. He could get them there but he didn't think he was in a position to get them over the top.

Personally I think it's a dick move by Riley to throw former players under the bus but it goes to his motive for changing jobs. He has a great offensive mind but he seems to believe talent will overcome scheme so he went to a place where locking down in state talent is the only place he believes he will build a roster to compete with Bama and Georgia on the national stage. Plus he went from a traditional power that is limited in NIL opportunities to a traditional power where they arguably can throw more money at recruits than anyone. From my bias I was cheering when he left but if I'm being honest his rationale isn't the healthiest sign for college football going forward. He jumps from a top 5 school where he was going to name his salary to a maybe top 10 school where he gets to name his salary but oh yeah half his next class gets recording contracts on Snoops label-I have no problem with kids getting paid endorsement deals through NIl but the obvious pay for play stuff is messed up.

Regardless though, dick move on him for his comments.
Well said.

Yall weren't bitching when you had back to back Heisman Trophy winners.
But we were bitching when he didn’t have the balls on 4th down against Georgia with that heisman at QB and turtled like a cuck. That was the moment for me when the shine of my young genius head coach faded. I for one am glad he left so we can have a complete team that also plays defense. Rather win 21-10 than lose 52-48

I remember him doing that and at the time I was laughing because he is an offensive genius who coached for your team and he shit his pants. But honestly it was something a rookie would do and with experience he would have opened the playbook there. He's probably figured it out by now.

As to your last statement all of us would rather win. Will your current guy win big games 21-10? Maybe. We figured out how to do that last year but let the guy who knew how to do it bolt. Dumb move on our part. Yall let a guy who was figuring out how to win 52-48 bolt in a place where you are moving to a conference that once prided itself on 21-10 victories now prides itself on 52-48 victories and its hard to go back to back to back elite coaches without a decade trying to find an elite one to begin with. Venture may be awesome but offs are he sucks and you get another Blake before you find a Stoops. If I'm wrong cool you guys went 3 in a row on elite coaches but that's exceptionally rare. And personally that scares me. Say what you will about Miles but he was elite as a HC. And we followed it with the most revered coach not named Sutton. I doubt we go 3 for 3 but if you guys do it well good luck with it

You have evidence of pay for play at USC or anywhere else?

Reggie Bush :pound:

Funny, in light of everything going on now, that situation seems like an overreaction by the NCAA.

lol

It was an overreaction by the NCAA, at least as far as the punishment USC received.

In retrospect though, the way the NCAA handled that situation (as well as a few others) may be part of how we got here. It took the NCAA so long to investigate that a lot of their agenda, lack of logic and lack of true concern for the welfare of student/athletes was exposed.

You can also say the NCAA's inconsistency on their rulings with some teams getting smacked hard on the wrist and others getting very light punishments for the same infraction.

This is funny. Brent Venerable made a reference to SEC's, it means a little more in relation to a question about winning a National Title at Oklahoma.

This West Virginia fan has no love for Lincoln Riley and totally trashes him in the video. Kind of a neutral audience and that is why I shared (even if this guy has some crazy out there theories).
