JUST GIVE US A CALL

Completely blindsided that TWO SCHOOLS FROM LOS ANGELES UP AND LEAVE OVERNIGHT. NO ONE SAW THIS COMING!?!?
Plenty of people saw it coming. Don't worry, your school is no different from the LA schools in that they're greedy as can be.

Pac12 hubris sunk them. Had they gotten over being liberal and stuck-up (you can value liberal values but don't be close-minded), they could have picked up Boise State and BYU who were two solid programs that could have generated some life into the league.

UNLV could have also been an interesting pickup.

Pac12 needed to do something because the current format wasn't working but they did nothing and they fell apart.
Boise State and BYU wouldn’t have done anything to save the conference. Putting so much into the Pac 12 Network, and somehow allowing it to not be carried by most major tv/satellite providers, and getting the shit end of the rest of your TV deals was the ultimate unraveling.

And regarding BYU, call the Pac 12 liberal and stuck up or whatever, but seems a bit ironic considering it’d be the entire conference that’s expected to bend to their scheduling whims. And Boise offers nothing outside of football, and really, how much would they even add for that? Not like Idaho is some recruiting hotbed or something. They would bring nothing to the table.

Given a choice between Oregon and Washington to the Big 10, Washington will get the nod.

Washington has been the better program historically. They bring more to the table.

Oregon's been a recent flash in the pan. They've been a stepping stone for coaches, and those two Utah beatdowns last season show they're still iffy as a long term investment.

Not saying the Big 10 won't eventually grab them, but they're down the pecking order.

TL;DR

I said this last year, Oregon needed to leave this PAC conference. Oregon was too big for the PAC-12, it needed to be in a bigger, more sustainable and more competitive conference. The SEC would provide the appropriate challenge. Hell, I guess I'd take the Big Ten since we went into the horseshoe and beat their prized position of a program in Ohio State, but that is also why I could see why the Big Ten doesn't call us, they don't want to hurt the, THE Ohio State brand and that historic horseshoe of a place.
hahaha the salt is real. Get rejected.

LSU has three National Titles since 2000 and has been one of the most winningest programs this Millenia.

Auburn has One National Title, one undefeated season 2004, and one National Title Game Appearance in 2012.

Texas has a National Title in 2005 and Title Appearance in 2009.

Florida was pretty dominate from 2005-2009. Heck, they won the SEC East just two years ago.

You guys have a major short-term memory.

These are not lightning strikes.

Tennessee is the only one that you can legitimately argue may not belong on the list and even Tennessee has had top recruiting classes and was close in 2015/2016 run to being back on top. They just cannot seem to get the coaches and luck these other programs have.
Auburn has 2 national championships and we’ve had two undefeated seasons in 1993 & 2004 plus we got arguably won it all in 1983.

The SEC won't be expanding to Oregon, or the left coast. No need and the complexities of it are absurd.

The SEC will choose schools from the following list if it makes financial sense (in sort of an order of best to worst):

Clemson
FSU
UNC
Duke
UVa
Miami
OkSU
WV
NCState
VaTech
Louisville
Kansas

Truthfully, not many of these deliver that many eyeballs:

19. Clemson — 1.74M
22. Oklahoma State — 1.58M
25. Florida State — 1.27M
35. Miami — 1.038M
36. North Carolina — 1.032M
40. West Virginia — 948K
50. Louisville — 616K
51. Virginia — 611K
54. Kansas — 540K
56. NC State — 525K
62. Virginia Tech — 447K
96. Duke — 64K

They can go to 20 or 22, I can't see 8 teams that are worthy and would bring enough to the table to justify getting a piece of pie.

I'd go to 22 with a 3-6-6-6 schedule, and bring in:

19. Clemson — 1.74M
22. Oklahoma State — 1.58M
25. Florida State — 1.27M
36. North Carolina — 1.032M

Then 2 of these, with the hoops schools being first choice:
96. Duke — 64K
54. Kansas — 540K
50. Louisville — 616K
51. Virginia — 611K
35. Miami — 1.038M
40. West Virginia — 948K

Out:
56. NC State — 525K
62. Virginia Tech — 447K

The SEC priorities will be the states of NC and Virginia.

My order of importance would be:

1 & 2. UNC and Duke (package deal)
3. Virginia Tech
4. Florida school (Miami or FSU)

If this goes down the way it looks then whoever gets in has a massive advantage so Clemson’s recent strength goes away and swings to SC and UGA.

The Crown Jewels of the ACC are UNC and Virginia. No way Virginia goes SEC but UNC will.

I think the B1G holds out and goes after ND, Virginia, GT and Clemson. They will want UNC but the SEC wins that battle.

From a footprint, population and prestige they are super attractive. I promise you the B1G would rather have them 10 times over than Oregon. They are 3 years removed from a basketball national championship.

Virginia’s main “market” is the DMV area, not even all them.

Also you mentioned bball, that means nothing in this

You don’t understand the B1G. If you don’t think their presidents wouldn’t jump at the chance to grab Virginia then you are nuts. None of them care about Oregon.

You can think what you want but this decision wouldn’t be close.

You’re drunk if you think Virginia is a better get than Oregon.

Not even worth my time

ACC chess pieces may have been already decided & divided by the B1G & SEC.
