Nats forced to trade Soto

Hitting only 247 on the season.

They could get a decent minor league player for him.

Couple years ago I was at a game at Miller Park right behind the plate. Soto was up and he took a strike that he thought was ball four. He dropped his bat and started toward 1st. until he realized it was a strike. I yelled out, "Get back in the box, Soto!" He glanced back and gave the the old "what's up" nod. Next pitch the fucker hit a single to right field.

Edit: It wasn't a couple years ago, it was early last year.

Lol. They are getting way more than a decent minor leaguer if the Nats trade Soto
His batting average is only 247 and his other numbers are not that great.

When the OBP is over .400, is the batting average even worth mentioning?

Yea his average is low this year but look at his career as a whole and was over .300 last 2 years and .292 overall. Carrier OBP over .400. He will command multiple top 100 prospects.

Anyone that is desperate enough to give up that many quality prospects for an under performer deserves what they get. What he did in the past should have little bearing on how much value the Nats get.

The limits you stretch retardation to is impressive.

So in your opinion its more important how a guy performs in the past than what he is doing now. Christian Yelich had two great seasons in Milwaukee and then regressed to mediocre when he signed that huge contract. I prefer trading for a guy that is playing at an elite level.
