I've said this over and over.

It's definitely geographically dependent.

People in the midwest have this insecurity that people don't know/like them, so they insist the dumb empty niceties are sincere.

People on the coasts don't give a flying fuck.

Central and South Florida is the 6th Boro of New York mixed with Cuba. Gainesville and the panhandle regions are basically South Georgia and Alabama.

The try-hards were the best. The ones who took their endorsements and who they connected with super duper cereal and made sure to appear on every post by a professor licking their own balls.
