I have no idea how he didn't figure it out until he actually saw it.

Maybe it's because I'm from Kentucky, but to me a shed is for storing things like a lawnmower, and garden tools, etc ...
A shed does not have electricity, and it sure as hell doesn't have heating and air conditioning.
