Keep in mind that grants of rights agreements have been used forever in other industries like music. They’re very simple agreements, and unless you can find some sort of imbalance in the negotiating process, they’re virtually impossible to get out of. The people here who signed the grants of rights are very sophisticated parties with a ton of lawyers who reviewed the agreement. It’s just impossible to break it. And the cost to buy out of it is just prohibitive.@WhosYourDawggy and I and I’m sure others on here have searched and haven’t found a case where a GOR has been broken. The theory is there to do so and I guess it CAN be done but it’s just not worth the time and money that the departing party has to put out.
