ESPN just denied the B1G their television deal, meaning ESPN has a ton of open time slots to fill. The PAC-10 is going to benefit like crazy with this opening. I'd take ESPN in my back pocket any day over FOX. When it comes to promoting a product, brand, etc. ESPN smashes FOX out of the water. Although in recent years I am sure many don't tune into ESPN or ESPN2 as much as they used to, but you still know it's there, from time to time I am sure people check in and see what's going on. How many people outside of CFB season tune into FS1? I completely forget that is a station.

ESPN promoting the SEC and PAC-10 is going to be great. What a great pair. Pac-10 After Dark will be a giant promotional display. ESPN will push that time slot hard and promote it like no other that it'll feel like a primetime game. When it comes to promoting and marketing their product, ESPN is far better than FOX. When the committee is trying to figure out who is #4 or who is #5, let's say one team is an ESPN school and the other is a FOX school, I got my money on the ESPN school to get into that 4th spot because ESPN is going to out do FOX in promoting, branding and marketing.

Give me ESPN all day over FOX.

Also, when you're looking for quick sports scores or news where do you got? ESPN or Fox? Does FOX even have a sports website? No idea, I've never been. ESPN is the go to website for scores and news.

Once again, more reason to know ESPN is the better member to have backing you

They'll probably just run re-runs of sportscenter instead of broadcasting Pac12 games.

Except nobody East of the Rockies give a shit about the Pac12. Enjoy your $30 million a year

You're delusional if you dont think ESPN will do whatever they can to promote the conferences that have aligned with them and that they back. Good luck getting much true national attention with FOX Sports. ESPN dominates in sports marketing. Sure FOX has a lot of money, but they don't market their product like ESPN does.

Ratings will be POURING IN when Cal and Oregon State are playing awful football on ESPN2 at 10PM EST
Pac12 football is something you turn on to fall asleep to at night. Half their viewers are probably people asleep on the couch who forgot to turn on the sleep timer.

Exactly, it doesn't make a difference if its on FS1 or ESPN2

This actually HURTS the pac 12 in the sense of TV exposure. They will get stuck with those late late time slots while the SEC and certain ACC teams get the prime slots. Not to mention they will get relegated to ESPN2 or whatever other secondary channels ESPN has now as well.

Still more viewers than the PAC Network.
PAC12 Network failed because of it's deals with who carried it. You had people in Oregon who literally couldn't get the PAC-12 Network, it wasn't an option. Larry Scott was an absolute terrible commissioner.

This is the most hilarious part of this stupid logic.

Yes if Ohio State and Utah are up for the last spot in the playoff, they are going to pick Utah because they play on ESPN3 at 10PM EST every week
