Walmart+ has an Amazon Prime Video competitor
Walmart+ — in its effort to become a true competitor to Amazon Prime — will offer Paramount+ as part of its membership offering, the companies announced Monday.

This is interesting because a big advantage that Prime has is people basically get it free with Prime to get free shipping. I don't know about you guys but that's the main reason we have Prime (although its selections are getting much better on the viewing front). I don't think this deal with Walmart closes that gap but it will potentially give Paramount+ another service it can promote and Walmart+ will push people onto the streaming service. This can start to separate them from Netflix and HULU. Paramount is positioned well IMO with the Star Trek and Yellowstone universes they just need to be more consistent with the timing of their releases so there is always something new and no dead periods.
New York (CNN Business)Walmart+ — in its effort to become a true competitor to Amazon Prime — will offer Paramount+ as part of its membership offering, the companies announced Monday.
Starting in September, Walmart+ subscribers will have access to Paramount+'s wide array of content from series including "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" to films such as "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" as well as live sporting events.
The move bolsters both companies' offerings. For Walmart, it now has a streaming video component to lure subscribers away from rival Amazon (AMZN) Prime. As for Paramount (PGRE), its service will likely get a boost in customers by being tied to a bundle from a major retailer like Walmart (WMT).
For consumers, it's also pretty good deal, considering it includes a Paramount+ Essential subscription, which normally costs $4.99 a month, bundled within Walmart+'s $12.95 a month price tag.
