They get the same amount a school would get.. they don't get the same share a conference would get... They got a conference share which was huge, then the BCS/CFP made a rule that an independent school would get the same share as a participant.. not the huge conference take. You forgot the CFP component. ND will almost assuredly get in most years and shares for the CFP are in the $20-$30 million range, or more. This is one thing people often forget that is very valuable and that ND doesn't have to share with anyone else. This would put them at the same level or close enough to the B1G and SEC to let them stay independent.
That’s what I was wondering. Are you talking about the current 4 team system or the future 12 team system
That’s what I was wondering.
fuck 12 teams.
fuck everyone reading this too.
Yep. I watched it. Roniah Tuiassasopo is a trans woman now. Roughly paraphrasing him but he said he was faking being a woman, why not go whole hog.
Not really seeing this happen in the near future. I think the PAC survives (at least for now) and no one jumps to the B12. It wouldn’t shock me any if the next move is from ACC schools years down the road. But then again I didn’t see USC or UCLA going to the B1G so anything is possible. I think the PAC will get a decent deal from ESPN because they will need content but more importantly (for the PAC) they are the next up with negotiations compared to the B12 that will have a to wait a few years.![]()
Notre Dame set to receive more than double previous revenue in new TV deal, per report
Notre Dame is an important piece in the changing landscape of college athletics.www.saturdaydownsouth.com
John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that the Irish are set to more than double their current revenue from the NBC deal, from $25 million to around $60 million. The current agreement runs through 2025. Ourand noted that it’s difficult to predict how the media business will look 3 years from now.
So they are getting 60 million from NBC and let's estimate 10 million from the ACC for a total of 70 million so that is potentially 30 million left on the table in order to stay independent. I thought they would get closer to the 75 million. Regardless their contract with the ACC stipulates if they join a conference before 2036 it has to be the ACC so if this deal goes through I think it safe to say that ND is locked up for a while.
The only thing that could change this is if enough ACC members vote to remove the GOR and join other conferences which would void the ND deal. So really at this point the only potential movement we are going to see is between the Big 12 and PAC 12 and I don't see anything happening on that front until the end of the season.
That's not how the CFP works. I did write up on it before and won't take time to go back and find it to be exact. Here is how it is done now and yes, independents only get a certain amount. They get the same amount a school would get.. they don't get the same share a conference would get... Bro they aren't going to give ND the full conference share.. unless they are cutting a portion of it to the ACC.. If the team average is 10 mil, that's what they will getThat's not how the CFP works. College Football Playoff Payouts 2021-22
The latest news and original analysis on the business of college sports…businessofcollegesports.com
But, it's been proposed that the way the money gets split when they renew the contract will be different. You can count on the SEC, B1G and ND advocating for a higher per team amount when they go to 12. The conferences will split that, but ND doesn't have to.
I don't know where the graphic I posted gets its numbers and that seemed high, and it's certainly not the way they do it now. But I suspect strongly when it goes to 1.5+ billions, the largess isn't going to go to the G5 teams, or even the lower P5 conferences.
So, let's say they will get somewhere between $10 and $20 million. Add that to the 60 plus the 12 they get from the ACC and they are at $82 - $92 million. That will work to stay independent.
So what you are saying is -- now that the dude identifies as a woman, he may have a chance with T'eo?What new are we going to learn other than the dude who cat fished him is a trans broad now.
JFC, you don't think I know that? Read what I wrote FFS.Bro they aren't going to give ND the full conference share.. unless they are cutting a portion of it to the ACC.. If the team average is 10 mil, that's what they will get

"You can count on the SEC, B1G and ND advocating for a higher per team amount when they go to 12. The conferences will split that, but ND doesn't have to."
Did you even read the article I posted?
Keep in mind that in 2026 there will be a new deal, and there will be two sheriffs in town - the SEC and the B1G. They will control what goes down. Based on past experience we know there will be a per team value in the new CFP. It was $6 million in 2022. If a conference wants to give it all to the team, they can do that. If they want to throw that into a pot and then divide that out with all the other bowl money, they can do that. If they want to give part to the team and split the rest between the other teams they can do that. The key is that whatever ND gets they keep. They won't get less on the per team payout than the other 4 (or 12 teams) just because they aren't in a conference.
Stop ... don't start typing ... read the article I posted.
There is a base payment - read the article - that all the conferences get and the indys get. In 2021 the SEC (and other P5 conferences) got $57 million, ND got 2.5 million. That's the base
Then, there are payments for participation in the CFP and bowl games under their control. In 2021 it was $6 million per team for CFP participation (no bonus for getting to championship, although they got 2.5 million of expenses), and $4 million for the other bowls. That's a per team amount that is paid to the conference, or in the case of ND paid directly to ND. This is not a conference payment, even though those teams in conferences have the money go to the conference. The base payment is the conference payment. So ND got $6 million, just like the other 3 teams.
When you add the base + the CFP money, ND got $8.5 million, plus expenses. Alabama got their share of the SEC's base + all the CFP bowl game per team money. That turned out to be about $5 million per team.
So, now that you know there is a conference/independent component, as well as a per team component. Now multiply the total pool of money by 3 to 4 and you can see that ND will likely get $24 - $32 million if it gets into the 12 team CFP. It is also likely that the P5 won't be as generous with the G5 on the new money, and the SEC and B1G might try to setup payments, even the base, to go to those who put more teams in. Who knows ... the SEC is pissed that the other teams fucked them over last year and Sankey ain't going to play nice. With that in mind, you can see where per teams shares could be quite a bit higher for SEC and the B1G and maybe ND.
Cliff notes! You gotta be shittin’ me thiefery! Attorneys don’t “cliff note”! Quite the opposite. Come on man!cliff notes?
