OFFICIALLY GAME WEEK! OREGON takes down georgia

There's already a game thread. Mods, please merge
This thread is better. More potential.

Who was the last National Champion to lose their 1st game of the next year ???

I'm drawing a blank

last i saw its Monday and Nix still hasnt been named the starter but you all keep talking about him like he is.

If there is one thing that really instills confidence in a team, it's definitely not having a clear cut starting QB 5 days before the game.

I am too. I know Auburn needed an onside kick to beat Utah State in their first game after their natty. That’s the closest that comes to mind

But no shit, UGA could have the greatest 3 headed monster at TE in CFB history this year with Bowers, Washington and Gilbert

meh. team knows who is getting reps with first team and the strengths and weaknesses of all involved. very likely they see it more of confidence in who ever it ends up being.

I'm sure the team does know who is the starter. Oregon feeling the need to try to find a "gotcha" advantage over UGA by not saying who their starter is to me the larger issue. Basically already turning to gadget plays days before the game starts. Not a good look to me. Rather than say "here is our team and we are going to beat you", Lanning is saying that without tomfoolery they don't stand a chance.

Lanning said he would not name a starter before the game as he does not see how it benefits Oregon. Makes total sense, why tell your opponent who is starting and give them time to prepare? Chess.

The #11 Oregon Ducks head to Atlanta, Georgia to take on the defending national champions and #3 Georgia Bulldogs in College Football's biggest game of week 1.
2nd biggest.

#5 @ #2 is bigger, that's why it's on at prime time and why College GameDay is headed to Cbus.

1998 Michigan (1997 co-NCs with Nebraska) lost the season opener to Notre Dame

1991 Georgia Tech (1990 co-NCs with Colorado) lost to Penn State

1990 Miami (1989 NCs) lost to BYU

Hyjacking this delusional thread a moment, is there a weekly Pick-em going on somewhere?

So there is recent history.
Yep, but this ain't no COVID fucked up season. Georgia ain't losing this game.

Lanning is already half way out the door going to Auburn before the season is over.
Saw that on the internet, so it's a true statement.

don't think the green font is needed in the above post, except for OD
