Jack was a great guy. But he was a lousy poker player. That was a constant source of ribbing between the two of us. The jock dorms were places something funny could happen at any time and since all the players lived together it made for a closer knit team. It forced people of different backgrounds to get along and get to know one another as human beings....not just some guys who wore the same color of uniform.

I'm pessimistic for "the other three" conferences in regards to media deal...way more so than the quality of football they put on the field. More the PAC 12 and the Big 12 than the ACC...but the ACC ain't got a cherry on top either.ESPN and Fox have agreed to do early negotiations on a new contract with the Big12.

If they can get some time slots opposite games from the big 2 like Rutgers vs Maryland, then I could see some value. But not if the Big 12 game is a Tech vs Houston type game slotted against Rutgers vs Maryland.
