It looks to be Pete Carroll era talent on offense, but I don't think it's as deep as those teams were. Definitely looks like they have Pete Carroll era speed.

We'll see. Pete Carroll's teams did take week in and week out.

This team has done it once. I find it hard to think this team is anywhere close to those Pete Carroll teams.

To be fair, this pretty par for the course for B1G West teams. They will go on to with the B1G West and then get destroyed by Ohio State in the title game.

It's not. They just have that kind of talent and speed. Obviously, they have a long way to go and a lot of work to do before they can truly be compared to any of those teams...but it's nice to be able to entertain the possibility that they could eventually get there.

That comparison could never have even been considered under Helton.

You were talking about Pete Carroll talent. To ne honest, I shouldn't have brought this up. You are excited about your team a s USC does look better already.

That's because that's the kind of talent they have. That doesn't mean they're as good and I haven't said they are.

The only thing they accomplished was beating a team like Rice the way they should beat a team like Rice if they want to be considered a top team. The difference is, they hadn't been doing that under Helton.

They have a lot of work to do before that kind of comparison can even be considered, let alone seriously talked about.

I know what I have been watching for the past several years and what I saw Saturday looked different. Of course, that could all change if they shit the bed vs. Stanford.
