Another day, another pitbull mauling

Pitbulls are responsible for the vast majority of fatalities associated with dogs. From 2010 to June 2021, there were 430 fatal dog bites, with 185 of those coming from pit bulls, and another 41 that were pit bull mixes.

  • 60% had pit bull in their bloodlines (either full-blooded or a mix)

"Confirmation bias".

Or people should be better informed and not get triggered by media stories that put out what they know will get clicks. A lab killing a kid doesn't get headlines, they are too cute and cuddly. A pit...cha-ching.
I agree

this is just your typical pearl grasping over an obvious tragedy.

in this case, the owner knew the risk of having a pit and still went forward. That doesn't mean there isn't sympathy, it is very sad...but he knew he was taking a risk and assessed it to be low.

Happened 2 weeks ago, by a lab.

lab/Golden mix

Like I said, confirmation bias. Dogs kill and maim people every day. Only when it is a pit does it stand out to some of y'all.
Summer of the shark……

They are more deadly when they attack, but they attack at a lower rate than other breeds.

Oh, okay. My mistake posting a death total link. Here's an attack link.

The top 5 dog breeds with the most bite attacks in the United States are listed below.

1. Pit Bull

  • Attacks: 3,397
  • Deaths: 295

What Breed of Dog Has the Most Attacks?

Statistics show that the highest dog attacks by breed are from Pit Bulls. Their natural aggression and high provocation rate from humans cause Pit Bulls to have the highest attack rate in the United States when compared to other dog breeds.

I view a dog as property and am therefore responsible for the behavior of that dog. If my dog digs holes in you flower bed it is up to me to make restitution and to ensure it doesn't happen again. If it kills your cat, I replace the cat. If it kills your kid, I get charged with manslaughter. No problem. But if you want to take my dog from me because it might do harm, you can kiss my hairy ass.

All of this! ⬆️

dogs don't kill people...people kill people.

Case by case basis. Kill the aggressive ones, leave the tame ones along. FTR, I have been around a lot of pit bulls and other “dangerous”breeds

My great grandma’s shih tzu is the only dog that has ever bitten me in a non playful manner

but the dogs in the OP were tame until they weren't...so how do you know?

I'm not sure if you realize...you're making their point for them regarding mass euthanization.

I'm saying you can't pick and choose which dogs are put down.

and putting down all the dogs is not a solution.

what's that thing I get told when I whine about gun control?

oh yea

mind your own business
guns are inanimate objects; pit bulls are not.

So, dead kids are your solution? Seems like your value system is a little screwed up.
