DOWN GOES BAMA!

That was a great win for the vols last night. One worthy of rushing the filed and toppling the goal posts. To put it in perspective, Hendon Hooker was 8 years old the last time the vols beat Bama. Nick Saban was the coach of the Miami Dolphins, And Bryce Young had not started Kindergarten yet.
Great win Vols, you can run the board now and see who you will play in that SEC Championship game :beer2: :evil:

Good post. There is a big contingent on Vol nation that wants Ole Miss to beat you guys so we get a rematch with Kiffin :pound: . However, I don't see it. I think you guys win out as long as Bryce Young stays healthy. Bryce Young was amazing and was the sole reason you guys stayed in that game and nearly pulled it off.

I think we beat em by a couple scores. Pretty confident they’re not gonna hang 50 on us at least.

But you’re kinda contradicting yourself here man. First you say you want a rematch so Tennessee won’t have bragging rights for a year, now you want UGA to destroy em which would pretty well eliminate any chance for a Bama-Tenn rematch

I agree. Ohio State should have had some tougher opponents so far this season but with Michigan State, Wisconsin, and ND being down it hasn't worked out. Only comfort is that they are doing terrible things to those opponents.

I do think Ohio State is a lot tougher than last year though so comparing them to Kelly's Oregon is a bit harsh. Everyone ran in Ohio States defense last season, even the bad teams. The offense was able to mask it a bit bc they put up points fast enough that most teams had to abandon the run.

They weren't tough on the offensive line last year either, coupled with players playing outside their normal positions. That was evidenced by their terrible red zone percentages. They replied completely on big plays and bc their wide receivers were so good they got away with it.

This year their red zone percentages is 100% so far with 27/29 resulting in touchdowns.

Penn States defense should be able to test them, though their offense isn't all that good. Same with Iowa. Maryland's offense should be able to test them (depending on just how bad Taulia's injury is) but their defense won't be up to it.

I'm they won't see a complete test until Michigan

I did congratulate them. Tennessee exposed Bama's weakness on defense all night. All I said was this Bama defense is not what it used to be.

I said nothing about the refs

Additionally, I didn't say you blamed the refs, I pointed out that in addition to you making a post discrediting their win, another Bammer made a thread blaming the refs.

Tennessee kicked Bama's ass. They have the best offense in the nation from what I've seen. They scored more points on Bama last night than any team has in over 100 years. That's remarkable if you ask me

I can congratulate TN and still point at my own team's deficiencies.

I can agree to the second statement. I love talking to you as a poster to be honest because you don't get overreact to posts and you write very intelligent responses.

I agree with Maryland. I think that could be an interesting matchup for you guys. Iowa's defense may give you trouble for a quarter or two but I think Ohio State blows them out.

There is this thought that I have about teams that a team that typically rolls over everyone unchallenged is not always the most capable team to win a title. It is like the Rocky movies I watch where you sometimes had the Boxers roll over people and then they get to Rocky and it turns into a major fist fight and then you really see what you are made of. Ohio State hasn't had that yet but there are games on the schedule that will allow you to prove yourself. Michigan State and Wisconsin collapse was a surprise so again it is hard to be critical when there are games on Ohio State's schedule that just didn't live up to billing. Illinois and Purdue look like good teams but they are not on Ohio State's schedule although you may see one of them in the B1G Title game.
