It is Mid-October and there are over 10 teams still in serious contention for the Title

I'm with you. UGA played great in games 1-3, and then games 6 and 7. But were games 4 and 5 anomalous? tOSU has basically played suck ass teams, almost all at home, and then had a bye. How good are they - FYI, I think pretty darned good. And, now Bama loses to UTjr for the first time in 16 years. Suddenly the old "there are the top 3 and then the rest" narrative might not be so certain. Next 6 weeks are going to be awesome!
With GA I think they played down for those 2 games. Still the best IMO. The Buckeyes need to have a consistent running game, especially in the red zone and get some better DB play.
Bama will rebound but they are not the juggernaut this year they usually are.
As far as the rest TN and MI are the others that are close. MI needs a better passing game and TN a little more D. But they are very close and could be there by the end of season.

Time. Will. Tell. All.

I love mid season bragging rights. Almost as good as preseason natties.

December and January are tough months on football teams and fans ego's.
Have you told your parents that you're trans?

Bama has had issues like this in the past, and rebounded many times, so this has happened as you stated, but this year may not. We have a number of entitled players like to 2010 team did, and think because Bama is in town teams will roll over. I see that as a culture issue and one I suspect Saban will start to crack down on with benching, if they dont get their shit together soon. Miss State is up next, and the QB has been doing very well this year. That could signal if Bama paid heed to their loss last weekend, or if that entitlement is still in place.
All we heard before the season was how good the defense was supposed to be. I am still waiting on that to happen.

I left high school a long time ago, so playing children's slap fight games is sort of beneath me at this point.
Maybe, but being a cunt clearly isn't.

You starting pissing in yer britches the moment you read my ridiculous, ball-busting post about tOSU butt fucking four teams at the same time, and immediately posted some whiney shit.

If your skin is that thin, maybe the internets isn't the best place for you.

Our big test will be whether our D can slow down UTjr's O. Bama couldn't but I think we have a way better secondary, and candidly I think our D coaching is better. But, we will see in 3 weeks.

Other than that, UF is always a rivalry game where crazy shit can happen, and we have to trap games - away at MSU and UK. Handle our shit in these next 4 games and I really like our chances. Play like we played against Mizzou and we won't make the CFP. Will be fun to see if we can step up.

Back to Florida.

This is how they create the yearly "SEC IS A GAUNTLET EVERY WEEK IS MUCH TOUGHER THAN ANY OTHER CONFERENCE!!!" narrative.

Utah was #7, was there another unranked team that beat a top ten 10 out of conference in week 1?

Winning puts you in, and losing puts you out...more so in the early weeks than at any time of year. Look at Notre Dame...started #5, lose 2 including an FCS game and out you go. Same with Oregon, Wisconsin, and Michigan St... one could easily argue why were they ranked so high to begin with. 5 of the pre-season top 10 aren't even ranked anymore.

If the SEC were easy our ranked teams would be losing OOC games...looking at you Michigan State and Wisconsin.

If other conferences want to get the benefit of the doubt their top-half programs should try winning OOC matchups...it helps.

There should be no rankings at all until like week 7 or 8. Then you could more properly assess teams without preseason biases or biases that started with early season wins that end up not meaning much as the season goes along.

You can't tell me Texas A&M losing and looking awful against a App State team that gave up gonzo yards and points to UNC the week before, and staying in the top 25, isnt some kind of SEC bias. For example

I'm not pretending there isn't bias, but you're pretending if you think there is only SEC bias.

Bias is what made Notre Dame only fall to #8 after the loss to Ohio State.
Bias is what made a 4-8 2021 USC team the pre-season #14.
Bias is what kept Baylor at #17 after losing to a mediocre BYU team.
Bias made Michigan State the pre-season #15 and Wisconsin the pre-season #18

It's a poll, by its very nature there is bias, if there is SEC bias it is as justifiable as any other bias. People don't just inherently think the SEC is a better conference...it is based on things like 6 out of 14 teams winning a National Championship in the last 25 years. or winning more National Championships than all the other conferences combined over the last 25 years.

You're literally advocating for waiting until there is more bias in the system not less. You just want them to be biased based on current year results...then you'll just be complaining about different SEC teams being ranked too high.

Actually I posted the truth. Time will tell all. If recent past shows us nothing else, it shows us that midseason bravado rarely translates to late season titles, even in Bama's case. Sorry if you cannot handle the truth, but I dont come here to play children's games. I come to discuss football, when I feel like talking sports. If you choose to play kids games, that's on you. Don't get pissy when someone posts the truth to you though, it doesn't look good for you.

Humans vote in these poll's correct? Then, yes there will be bias

Do you really think that I think tOSU would butt fuck all four teams at the same time? I was having fun with Chewy, but you lost your shit. Try to keep it together, son.

I assume at least Georgia would be tOSU from that list. Very possibly more.

Of course time will tell, you dumb dildo.

way to go out on a limb there...at this point I think Oklahoma has better D coaching.
With all due respect, you've had the best coaching and have been the Death Star for 15 years. At the beginning of the season everyone was saying that your D was going to be the best ever with what you had returning, and we were going to take a huge step back seeing how we lost 5 D players to the NFL in the first round. So, yeah, I am stepping out on a limb to say that I think we have surpassed Saban in the category of defense.

Florida dropped 1 fucking spot in the CFP rankings in 2020 after losing AT HOME to a god awful 5-5 LSU team the week before the SEC title game. This is evidence of extreme SEC bias.

Bama and Georgia are the only SEC teams currently who have earned any benefit of the doubt.

Anyone else not so much.
