Post Your ACC Retard Thoughts Here

Notre Dame has natural rivalries with Boston College (Catholic connection) and Pittsburgh. This is why they likely pursued the ACC.

I see these teams as Notre Dame's rivals, I could be wrong:

Boston College
Pittsburgh
Michigan
Purdue
Michigan State
USC Trojans
Stanford
Navy

They seem to play these teams often.

I agree ACC was bidding against themselves when it came to ND. But looking at it now, it pays off for this season alone. They have them playing a full ACC schedule... and ND gets a raise lol
It pays for ND but I don’t see where it helps the ACC that much. I mean they could have picked up Army and struck a better deal revenue wise.

No way. Notre Dame is worth more money in the short term AND long term to the ACC.

According to Business of College Sports, Notre Dame was awarded more than $28 million over the first five years of the CFP while participating in the Playoff only once. In 2018, Forbes listed Notre Dame as the seventh most valuable college football team with a revenue of $112 million and a profit of $72 million, and in 2020 they were elevated to the 5th most valuable.

And what's in it for Notre Dame? It's actually better with the ACC than the alone NBC money.

The CFP changed the rule, when ND first made the CFP, they received the full conference amount despite being independent. Now they get the school rate

You guys keep telling me how great it is for ND and I 100% agree with that. I don't see it moving the needle for the ACC and it actually hurt them this year because they agreed to give up a share to ND.

The ACC needs to tell them to fish or cut bait.

You won't get an argument out of me on whether they should be a full member instead of everything but football. I get it. But substituting Army as a member wouldn't have been lucrative as just taking a year with ND. They are a cash cow and eventually I think ND realizes they need the ACC moving forward anyway.

So tell me how much more money you made by giving ND a full share vs if you gave Army a full share?

I'll help you out...zero.

This is a con game and you guys have bought it hook, line and sinker.

All 15 schools in the ACC gets a share of NBC TV money even though they only play 10 of the ACC members. That's more than Army would ever bring in.

Think about this.

ND is making more this year than they would just under the ACC contract. At no point has it been reported that the ACC is making more by having ND on the schedule.

That pretty much means that part of the ACC money is subsidizing ND and not bringing in more money to the ACC. So if you struck the deal with Army and both agreed to just pay visitor rates instead of a full share more than likely you would come out way more ahead. It's not like any of the schools are getting gate money so this is all network money. ND getting a full share takes away from your other schools.

I suspect the ACC has done a spin job on this and no one is reporting the real numbers only that ND is making more and I bet that came from them to appease their fanbase.

Not necessarily. As the season progresses ND can make the ACC Championship game, plus a bowl or Final Four and the ACC is making their share of the money. It can't be reported if they haven't gotten there yet.

I actually really like the ACC and have lived in 3 ACC States (Florida, Georgia and Virginia). Have to laugh at the Packer-Durham Show (which I like and listen to most mornings) making such a big deal about the 17th all-time ACC game between Top 10 tams this week between Miami and Clemson. I mean, Really? Have some pride! Switch the subject to Basketball or Soccer!

three ACC states but not the GOAT ACC state

shame

I’m not saying the ACC is an above average league or that the offenses are above average. But the quarterback play is behind no one

Let me rephrase that for you, Our league is below average and so are our offenses, but our shitty defenses make our qb's look like world beaters...

If ACC qb's got drafted based on their fantasy value in college, they would be off the chart. It's like a poor man's B12 of waiver wire gold.

17th all time...lol. Just out of curiosity I checked the SEC, I only had to go back to 2012 to get to 17...and that was EOY rankings.

Lol. No. If you want to look at shitty defenses making certain qbs look better, look no further than the SEC.
Example A: Trask
Example B: Costello
ACC quarterbacks are by far and away better than anything the SEC is putting out right now. They are just on mostly inferior teams

Not too mention, I believe the NFL has had 10 QBs start this year that have played for an ACC school. So clearly the ACC has had success putting qbs in the league recently. Regardless of their schools success.

Not surprising that you believe there are 10, because you apparently believe a lot of shit that isn't true.

I got 6...Lamar Jackson, Teddy Bridgewater, Deshaun Watson, Philip Rivers, Daniel Jones, and of course Russell Wilson. Unless there are some other Russell Wilson style tranfers I am unaware of.

Now that's some bullshit worthy of a retard thoughts thread...hats off.

Nick Foles. Mitch trubisky. Tyrod Taylor. Matt Ryan
But not surprising you only believe there was 6, because you apparently don’t have a very good understanding of the sport.
