Obviously. Tennessee fans are smarter than Bama “fans.” Of course you couldn’t have said it betterwhat @Volbound1700 said. I could not say it better.
I didnt say I couldnt not have said it the same. You missed that part. My figure of speech spoke for itself, but you chose to play troll again.Obviously. Tennessee fans are smarter than Bama “fans.” Of course you couldn’t have said it better
I think Bama was easily the best team. Still don’t think they should have been in the game with missing data point and Arkansas being their only notable win on the season. They were there though and won it straight up. But I still wouldn’t say a word if LSU claimed a natty that year too.I didnt say I couldnt not have said it the same. You missed that part. As for your posts on what transpired, you leave out one important fact, Bama was voted into that game and played it the best of any team i had seen play LSU that year. The facts you post about all the teams LSU beat to get there, including Bama, shows how good that team was, yet Bama held them to not crossing the 50 all night. Sort of speaks to which team was the best team in the nation, hands down.
I'll give TN one thing.. that offense of theirs is a machine.. Not sure there is another program right now who has an offense as good as theirs up to this point. I get tosu but they are not looking the same this season as they have offensively, in the past.
however TN defense.. work under progress too.. they really have to step up this week because although Bryce was the best QB they have seen, they haven't seen a group of skill players that UGA will bring in this week
I can pretty well guarantee that Georgia is gonna try to establish a run game. It’s been coming on strong the last few games and we do have a really good o-line. Our defense is really good, but not to last year’s caliber, but Tennessee’s offense is going to be able to score against anyone.I think Georgia and Alabama have very similar offenses from skill player perspective. I am leaning towards Alabama's offense being slightly better just thanks to Bryce Young.
Not sure about defenses. On paper, Georgia has A LOT better defense but it hasn't been challenged yet. Another noteworthy stat is Georgia is towards the bottom of the SEC in sacks.
Georgia lost Nolan Smith at Linebacker which maybe a bigger loss than expected.
Tennessee also has 3-4 players back on defense that were out against Alabama. They came back for UK which might explain why our secondary looked better (although UK's offense is another explanation).
It is just hard to tell on the matchup because Georgia hasn't had that chance yet to show how good their defense is and this could be their chance to rise to the occasion. It would be crazy to think Georgia will look like they did against Missouri and Kent State as I think Georgia will come out and play a great game unlike those let downs.
The key is how much Tennessee has improved on defense since Alabama as well as the impact of the missing pieces on defense for Tennessee. Also, another key is Georgia's ability to put pressure on Hooker. Not sure if we have seen the best game yet for Georgia's Defensive line. Hopefully the unit struggles against Tennessee but we will have to see.
Just checked, the over/under is 66. Gonna go ahead and bet that under
I’m thinking something like 35-28.So that is 33 points for each team, correct? I would go with over. I am not sure either defense is good enough to keep it from being a shootout. I don't see a 52-49 game like in Knoxville but I do see a shoot out.
I am not liking the strategy if Georgia wants to play ball control because I think Tennessee's offensive and defensive scheme is designed to be a kryptonite for that type of playstyle. Kentucky tried that and it just did not work well. Granted, I do think Georgia will have the best rushing attack Tennessee has seen so far this year.
If that is the plan for Georgia, they definitely need to get the ball first and have a long first drive to start the game.
Georgia has offensive talent to beat us in secondary. Georgia will need to pass at some point in this game to compete.
I had a friend that summed up Tennessee well. Teams are being forced to abandon the run and pass constantly in second half against Tennessee which helps explain why our secondary's stats are really bad. Some of that has been driven by teams getting desperate and throwing on Tennessee a lot like Alabama, Florida, and LSU had to do in the second half. Kentucky was forced into doing that as well but Levis kept getting picked off or sacked.
That is why I posted the opinions are like assholes comment. While on paper LSU looked like world beaters and actually played some good football in certain games and won them, when time for the rubber to meet the road they failed miserably against a far superior team. A fact based argument states it like you did in a couple of posts, that LSU looked like the team to beat, Bama just was better when the time case and that was all on voters who put them in that game.I think Bama was easily the best team. Still don’t think they should have been in the game with missing data point and Arkansas being their only notable win on the season. They were there though and won it straight up. The UGA o-line is no joke this year and the running game is strong. That’s not to say play action and the deep ball won’t be a part of the plan, but I’d expect to be more run heavy unless we fall behind and have to play catch-up.
Run the ball and stop the run are gonna be the name of the game. I expect TN’s scores to be quick strikes, I expect UGA scores to come through sustained drives
What happened happened, but losing at home, not having the 13th data point and only one win worth mentioning, Bama was gifted a game they didn’t deserve to be in.That is why I posted the opinions are like assholes comment. My personal opinion is, for lack of a good kicker that year, Bama was hands down the top team on the field that year and they proved it when it counted. I also believe that Ok St that year might have stayed with LSU for a short time, but in the end LSU skull fucks them with the defense taking over and the offense running rough shod on that poor defense OK St had most of the year.
If we fall behind early like Bama did, it’s curtains for UGA. The game plan is gonna be to slow y’all down and keep the ball out of Hooker’s hands as much as possible.I do think you guys should be more prepared for us than Alabama. It just seemed like Alabama and even Saban were just shell shocked by Tennessee. If it wasn't for heroic play by Bryce Young and Jamyr Gibbs, that game could have gotten ugly in 2nd and 3rd quarter.

But it was over a decade and not sure why it was ever brought up in this thread to begin with
That ain’t true. LSU beat em in 2010 and the regular season game in 2011
That was the exchange that started it and it escalated from there. Gifted or not(and I freely admit Bama did get gifted) they were the best team that year. They actually should have won in BDS that year, but Saban kept putting in a kicker knowing he was not capable of hitting his ass with both hands, much less a field goal. I blamed Saban for that loss and was glad we got a do over at the end of the year.yes, but in the three strikes you're out game we didnt let them cross the 50 yd line. We took home all the marbles after that game.

I'm not sure you have watched Georgia games if you think they are going to abandon the pass?!? They average 330 yards passing a game.Georgia has offensive talent to beat us in secondary. Georgia will need to pass at some point in this game to compete.

It is going to be one of the best games up to this point in CFB -- I can't wait to watch.
