That's nice and all. However you are looking at this as if Prime will have no other competition on Saturdays.

To top that off, there are FAR more households nationwide that have ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and ESPN available.
Literally EVERY household has broadcast tv available with a $25 digital antenna.

I'll give you Prime having success west of the Rockies, but there's good reason the PAC 12 is having difficulty getting a good tv deal.

I don't get the big deal if P12 games are aired on Amazon. I'm guessing it's going to be a tier 3 package, similar to NBC getting a piece of the B1G and streaming 8 games on Peacock. Odds are pretty high that OSU, PSU, MSU, Michigan, USC won't be on Peacock. Hell just look at this year's Big Noon schedule. The games for the most part have sucked.

Honestly, they'd probably get more viewers on Amazon(even a shitty game) than they would on the P12 Network.

Getting a package of FOX/ESPN/Amazon would be nice for the league.

That's not really saying much, lol.

No one is saying they'll get no viewers. But considering Amazon is struggling to push meh Thursday Night NFL matchups. With absolutely zero other NFL competition that day, it's stupid to think they'll have great success pushing the Pac 12 outside of a few games a year that peak national interest.

Yeah I can't wait to watch the Broncos vs Steelers or Colts or Texans. NFL fan base is nothing like an entire conference. NFL is alive because of fantasy football and gambling. I'm not very into watching a terrible and boring team like the Broncos take on a dreadful Texans team, but those are the type of games TNF airs.

Amazon would be airing an entire conference, which not only will draw interest from their fanbases, when it comes to the college football landscape and playoff situations, it will become an interest for cfb fans everywhere. Guarantee Oregon/Utah next week will draw interest from people all over the country who are CFB fans because of the playoff implications it will have.

More people watch NFL games than CFB games. It's a fucking fact. And Amazon is having a hell of a time getting big numbers for those NFL games they have.

In no world is being on Amazon better than being on ESPN or Fox, except in your fantasy la la land.

Larry Scott is long gone. The Pac is still struggling to get a good tv deal that would come near competing with the Big 10 and SEC deals. Losing USC/UCLA simply exacerbated things.

The biggest issues are population and time zones. Those issues have always been there and any Joe Blow as commish is always gonna have to deal with them.

The USC/Utah game didn't even rank in the TOP 50! of CFB most watched games so far this season.

I wouldn't expect the Oregon/Utah game to do much better.

I was getting ready to type this. Utah was in a lot better shape as a G5 program, so they improved yes. But not by leaps and bounds. Colorado's last winning season in the Big 12 was in 2005, and it wasn't by much. The Buffaloes have had a losing season in the PAC 12 every year except one. I can't see UNLV "bringing it" just because they in the PAC 12.

I brought up the NFL because we already have a blueprint for NFL ratings that include Amazon.

All by it's lonesome, Thursday night NFL on Amazon is no higher than 6th when competing with Sunday, Sunday Night, and Monday Night football and Sunday games are regional.

To think they'll compete with ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and ESPN for college football on Saturdays is laughable at best.

Maybe that goes to show FOX doesn't really get the viewers they think they get. I still think if it came down to ESPN or FOX I'd want to be in a conference that had a deal with ESPN. ESPN/ABC > FOX

Yea. A program like UNLV does not automatically become good just because they join the Pac 12.

UNLV has NEVER been a good program at any point in their history. 189-325-3 is their all time record since becoming a FBS team. That's awful.

Yet now we are expect to believe they will suddenly turn it around just because they join a bigger conference.

No it shows nobody cares about the Pac 12.

Fox does just fine with ratings when it comes to the Big 10

hell Ohio State vs Iowa drew over a million more viewers than a matchup between undefeated Oregon and UCLA. Lol!
