2023 Recruiting Thread

This happened in the 2020 class too. We whiffed on every big target and ended up with a 3* reach as our only RB, though it turned out to be Miyan Williams so it wasn't a bad end result. We did hit Treyveon Henderson in the next class though, so hopefully we do similar next year.
Sorry we don't have a Tre Sermon to give you.

Stay tuned more to come. 👀

Looks like Ohio State is making a serious late push for Rueben Owens, if he actually does make it to the game on Saturday could get interesting. Rumor has it he's "very close" to making the visit.

If you pay, you can get him.. Zach Evans 2.0 without all the drama

** also don't sleep on him going to aggy despite all the craziness going on there right now

They should. I don't think any of the 3* RBs they are scrambling for to fill the open slot are really Ohio State caliber. If they could lure Owens in it would take a lot of pressure off of next years RB recruiting. They pretty much have to hit on 2 high caliber guys next year to make up for this years flop at the moment.

How much does Owens care about immediate playing time is the real question though. Henderson and Williams should both be back and Pryor who was supposed to be the #3 back this year will be back from injury. So itll be a pretty crowded room next year. So unless he came in and blew the doors off everyone he likely wouldn't see any significant time until 2024 (he would likely be the #1 back then though)

Ohio State lost their 3* filler QB to Florida State

but looks like we are going to poach Washington's QB commit Lincoln Kienholz, another "under the radar" type from South Dakota (lol)

Makes sense to take a guy like this with 2 highly rated guys already behind Stroud and Raiola coming in next class.

lol wait..is that the Vasek replacement? What happened with Akana?
Also at 6'5" 235 Wein is under valued. He's improved each year of high school and is having a monster year this year. After OU offered then Ole Miss, Kentucky, and USC tried to grab him.

well we are out of the Akana recruitment.. apparently it was either his or Vaseks spot
Pretty sure Akana signs with us. It will be interesting to see which one pans out better.

looks like y'all are really rebuilding though high school recruits. Our guys are aiming for Portal DT/DEs

Interesting to see how both approaches work

Fletcher is gone, sucks but whatever. Even if Miyan were to go pro next year we're going to go into the season with Trey, Dallan, and Pryor. 2024 season we'll still have Dallan, Pryor, and whoever we get in the 23 and 24 classes.

Transfer portal is always an option as well - if we have RBs who are capable, we're great. If we don't, it's highly likely we can get a transfer who wants a high profile spot on a team like OSU, so we're great.

Stay tuned.....
Gerry Hamilton (on3) said that he is hearing more chatter that Hicks sticks to aggy.. He's visiting them this weekend for the LSU game.

That game could get ugly for A&M. But if it comes down to money bags we are out.
