tOfficial Fire Ryan Day thread.

Again -- nothing Smart did. Georgia won because Bama's best players were out. Congrats. Spin it however you'd like, but that's what happened.
And it’s Bama’s fault they lacked depth. Don’t let your best players be pussies I guess

Kirby>Harbaugh>>>>>>Day

But keep white knighting for your biggest rival’s coach. It’s precious

I'm not white knighting anything -- You are the one who said Kirby won the big game. I simply stated, he backed into it. Georgia won the NCG last year, but Bama was the best team. Georgia was lucky enough to stay healthy.

UGA had injuries too, they just had depth.

And games implies more than just the NCG. Michigan last year was a big game. Tennessee this year was a big game.

You took exception to me calling out Day and started defending brittle bitches. It’s cute though. Keep pretending you hate OSU while white knighting for their trash HC

I couldn't give a shit about Day. I simply asked if Smart was a bargain hire because he had no HC experience.

Michigan shouldn't even be in the same stratosphere as Georgia. Is Smart a better coach than Harbaugh? Hell no. But he has an enormous advantage in recruiting because of where the college is located.

Georgia in the 2019-2022 recruiting classes.
Georgia signed 18 5 star recruits and 43 top 100 nationally recruits.

Michigan in the 2019-2022 recruiting classes
Michigan signed 3 5 star recruits and 9 top 100 nationally recruits.

THAT is why Georgia is better and SHOULD blow out Michigan.

“I don’t care about Day but I’m gonna white Knight for him”

LOL

Recruiting is a major part of a coach’s job

Kirby>>>Harbaugh

If you swapped Kirby and Harbaugh -- it'd be Harbaugh with those recruiting classes. It isn't rocket science. A kid growing up in Georgia, rooting for Georgia, dreaming of going to Georgia, is going to pick Georgia. It is why the "top schools" happen to be located in the top recruiting states for high school football.

A coach can sleep walk to a top 10 recruiting class at UGA, Richt pretty well did, but Kirby’s recruiting prowess and connections in the southeast bring it to the next level and Kirby recruits nationally as good as anyone. Harbaugh doesn’t have the same connections, and isn’t gonna win near as many recruiting battles against Saban as Kirby does. And you still have to be able to game plan and develop to have success. Recruiting at A&M hasn’t been an issue for Jimbo.

I’d take Kirby over Harbaugh a million times out of a million

If you swapped the location of Michigan and Georgia -- the recruiting swaps with it. It'd be Michigan with the stacked classes. It'd be Georgia with the occasional 5 star recruit.

It is why you see coaches bounce from job to job to get to one of those select few jobs. Only reason Harbaugh has stayed at UM is because he grew up in Ann Arbor, played football at UM. He'd be gone if he didn't have all those connections and want his kids to grow up in Ann Arbor.

And what helps recruiting more than anything -- having the elite recruits in your own backyard, because with social media and national football camps -- those kids become recruiters for the school. It is why schools try to get early commitments, it is why they try to get a big time QB committed early.

As far as Kirby/Harbaugh -- if you give them the exact same rosters. I'd take Harbaugh without hesitation. If it is a choice between Kirby and Harbaugh with the enormous difference in recruiting -- yeah, I'd take Kirby too.

Then why wasn’t Richt recruiting at the same level as Kirby? Location definitely matters, but you still have to put in the work and hire the right assistants to move from good recruiting classes to elite recruiting classes, and you still have to be able to develop, which is why the QB is a former walk on and the top two WRs were 3 stars with McConkey being a no star until UGA offered him, and why both the top TE’s and the top CB are west coast guys.

I'm sure Michigan will start doing better with recruiting now. A playoff win would go a long way though.

Watch what happens to Michigan if we play Georgia. I'm not delusional, like yourself. We will get stomped......again. There are levels to this game. The ONLY reason Nebraska will compete for a division title is they play in a weak division. You put Nebraska in the B1G East and they wouldn't even sniff a division title.

Just be happy that's where you are and it gives you a chance to be competitive.

Michigan will stay exactly where they always are, because our Administration is a nightmare. We won the B1G last year and went to the CFP and this year we have one of our lowest recruiting classes in a while.

You're the one here endlessly pimpin' Ohio St's 5 star WR's.

How's that work out for them in a physical games where you have to be able to run the ball?

It would help if they used any of their 4 best rbs to be fair.

But the lack of a run game from the qb Is an issue

How many WhoPhoneDis posts do I need to quote with him saying nobody can compete with tOSU because "5 star WR's"?
