Did anyone see Ohio State made the CFP?

I'm hoping for a transfer honestly.

McCord needs to go and I'm not loving what I've heard from Brown.

And that's on Day

I think the lack of hearing "good things" is how Day handles his backups.

We really didn't hear much about Stroud either until he actually got in. They seem like they really arent allowed to show much off until they become the starter. Which seems like not a good thing.

I don't think McCord is that dude. Losing Ewers hurt that class. So it's Brown but Railoa is Clearly the guy.

I'd rather they swing for DJ from Clemson honestly.

DJ U stinks lol. I want nothing of him here.

IDK about McCord or Brown but i'd rather roll with them than try to plug some guy whos been bad-mediocre the last 2 seasons in.

I can tell you from experience -- you miss on QB recruits, it is a problem.

Signed,
Zach Gentry, Brandon Peters, Dylan McCaffrey, Joe Milton, Dan Villari -- Also Cade McNamara.

Cade was the only one out of the bunch to be an effective starter and even he was essentially a game manager. Now try being a school who doesn't accept transfers unless they are graduate transfers. You essentially get to pick from the QB's not good enough to get drafted.

I think you need to talk to @Edisto_Tiger @TaikoTiger or @RubinRock and reevaluate some things

I'd watch what you wish for DJ has looked horrible this year.

I'm not sure what they are seeing that makes them not believe in the backups as we haven't really seen anything. Hell, the only play we had seen from Stroud when he took over was a 40 yard read option run against Michigan State.

For years we had guys like Pryor, Braxton Miller, JT Barrett, etc and all we did is complain about needing to be able to throw. Now we just want a QB that can run again apparently

Not gonna happen. CJ will just panic in the pocket and either take sacks or make awful desperation heaves down the field. It's way too in his head not to run for that to change for 1 or 2 games.
Hate it but you're right

Theres not a QB transfer this year i'd take. No one is really "elite level"

All taking a mediocre stop gap would do is likely run Brown and McCord off and we'd really be screwed on depth purposes.

I don't think he throws too many desperate heaves. He isn't going to become a runner by the playoffs though. There have been a bunch of times this season I think he is throwing a desperate heave and the damn thing gets caught where only our guy has a chance on the sideline

Yep LOL. People whined relentlessly about Meyers reliance on the RPO with Barrett. But we'd kill for that right now.

I remember McCord from when he was recruited and he was one of the top QB's. Not sure why they want to write him off. He hasn't really had a chance to show anything?

True. He is good at that but the problem is those arent particularly high % throws. Its not good to be very reliant on those connecting.

I don't want the read option to come back. What I wouldnt mind is just the scramble for 6-7 yards when his first couple reads aren't there

I haven't heard anything about Brown yet, and McCord is largely untested.

Day really annoys me in that when he does put the backup into games, they never get to actually do anything besides hand the ball off and milk the clock.

I mean damn...there is a balance lol

Zero runs versus that nonsense.

Fields with Day was the perfect balance.

So I'm at a total loss why Day has not recruited nor coached to that at all.

I'm rooting hard for Brown to win out. He's a true running threat but he also has a great arm from all I've heard when he was in HS.

This

He didn't even try to have McCord run the offense.

McCord did it in...week 2 maybe of last year? Throws a nice ball.

Fields was a rare talent so its kind of hard to replicate him.

Seems Day would rather sacrifice running for Arm Talent rather than arm talent for running.
