I knew it would be bad, watched like 5 minutes of it for one game, and haven't bothered tuning back in to it. It's amazing how they can do all that work yet offer so little substance. ESPN was by no means excellent when they had the rights, but Fox makes them look amazing. Don't know when the broadcast rights are up again but I really hope Fox loses.

It's pretty incredible they can bid that much money for the rights and then put out such a terrible product.

Bold England pick.

I think we might get more extra time or even PKs with Morocco v Portugal. The Morocco squad has only given up 1 goal in 4 games now and they've run through some pretty stout attacks during that time too.

If France hadn't picked up all those injuries before the tournament (Benzema, Kante, etc), they were my pick to repeat and win it all.
If I'm England, I'm actually more worried about Giroud than Mbappe.

France lost Lucas Hernandez in the cup too on defense with an ACL. I think it will be Brazil’s year ultimately.

Yeah, i don't know about all that. Giroud is a decent finisher, but he's not really someone who creates anything for himself or others.
That matchup is going to be all about which squad does a better job neutralizing the other team's best player.

For England, they must avoid Mbappe marauding up and down the pitch at full speed. Try to limit his touches as much as possible and smother him with multiple defenders.

For France, they must limit the touches Kane gets. Most of the English attack originates from the chances Kane creates. France has to smother him and not allow him to face the goal with the ball. He's too good at finishing or distributing.

I'm hoping for an open game, but i have a feeling each side will play pretty conservatively.

The reason I mention Giroud is because, he's Van Nistlerooy type player in that it doesn't seem like he does much, but he scores a lot of goals. He quietly became France's all time scorer, and when you're talking people like Henry, Platini, Blanc, Zidane, Benzema, Anelka etc that's saying something. Plus he's VERY familiar with English defensemen, and he's a big guy and can be dangerous on corners and free kicks.

If they concentrate only on stopping Mbappe, Giroud COULD kill them.

dual edged sword for sure. Focus too much on trying to stop Mbappe, and Giroud gets clear opportunities that he's good at finishing. But if you don't stop Mbappe, he just kills you himself.

Sexy Giroud is a poacher, guy reads the game knows where to pop up, near post, back post, he reads the field and knows where he needs to place himself to get a chance and then he finishes.
He’s everything the fucking us team doesn’t have.
