Why did he say "receiver" and not wide receiver? After all, your point is that all receivers are wide receivers and should be called that, right?

And yes -- WR's are referred to as a receiver. What you will NEVER see ANYONE who has ever played the game of football refer to a WR as a 'RCVR'. That is why you can't find anyone else here using that, it is why you would never find that on any teams website for a players position.

But keep grasping at straws and trying to justify your stupidity.
