Colorado Fans are delusional

That’s the combined rankings where they count transfers. They are that high because of volume … they have 42 commits, LOL. By average they are in the high 30s.

Deion is literally the ONLY reason why CU has a 5 star and three 4 stars coming in as FR. Combine that with his transfers brought in, he has upgraded the talent level at a ridiculous rate.

yeah but it's still impressive.. that program was dead and he brought them back.. When was the last time Colorado got a 5 star player?? Darrell Scott???
They landed the top RB in the country like 10 years ago, but he was a major bust

24 3-stars is also a lot for a program that's struggled as much as they have

That’s not a surprise, right? But it’s not close to enough to compete for even a conference championship. Terrible team, flashy hire. Can only get better. Can’t go down. Question is how far up he can go.

Considering Colorado made the PAC championship game not that long ago the bar isn’t high for them to get back. Take USC and UCLA off the bd and it gets easier.

At this point a bowl game would be a victory for Colorado and just playing in the PAC championship would be huge for their fan base so he will be worth what they pay him.

My guess is at some point the shine will come off and recruiting will level out but he has probably 3 to 5 years and will progress. I don’t see playoffs on his future.

Let’s be honest the grind is going to get to him and he will go back to TV at some point.

Yea they have a ton of transfers but only a couple of them are really very good at all.

I think the people who think they are going to be good are under the delusion that all of these transfers = instant success. Which is completely untrue. They will likely look better than Colorado did last year, but that's saying nothing lol. 4 or 5 wins is probably their ceiling.

Nah, Nebraska got a couple of Dawgs on the team that know how to win now. They’ll win 8 games this year minimum. Bet the house

Naw. That's a coinflip.

Early game and both are starting from scratch regarding system/scheme.

Being @Boulder gives the Buffs some edge.

they only won one game a year ago.. if he manages to get to 5.. or (gasps) 6 and qualifies for a bowl game.. will be one of the better storylines for the '23 season. Pac12 football is wonky.. feels like upsets are always in play

IDK if he can get 5 especially 6.

@TCU
Nebraska
Colorado State
@Oregon
USC
@Arizona State
Stanford
@UCLA
Oregon State
Arizona
@Washington State
@Utah

I think it's safe to proclaim Oregon, USC, UCLA & Utah losses right off the bat

@TCU (they lose a lot) Oregon State and @ Washington State are likely losses

Nebraska, Colorado State, Arizona State, Stanford & Arizona seem like the games they can win. Can they win all 5 though?

Dude they went 1-11 next year. If he competed for a PACCG that would be a miracle turnaround. If he can get them in a bowl game it would be a great turnaround. 2 top recruits transferring is an amazing start but it’s two guys, going to take more than one year

They aren't. As I stated, the ranking is based on quantity - 42 transfers and new players - not quality. If you look at their average ranking, they are closer to the 40s than the 20s. You can't build a winning team with his schtick, players that are me-too guys like him, and tons of transfers. And then he won't be there long enough to bring around lasting change. That's Deon.

They were beyond awful last year.

Gave up 44 Points Per Game and 509! yards per game

Only averaged 15 points per game.

The defense will improve but that's literally saying nothing. Theres only a couple of upper level players actually coming in. Most of the transfers are meh lower level guys, they might be a bit better than what Colorado had last year, but as said, thats saying nothing.

Even with Sanders kid at QB that offense is still a hot mess and a major work in progress. They still aren't going to be anywhere near good enough offensively either to seriously compete.

I think they can maybe win 4 games, and thats because Stanford, Arizona State & Arizona are all messes as well. Anything more would be shocking.

I guess I don't look at from the perspective of maybe they win some more games, or they might get to a bowl game. All the hype, and the "we coming" nonsense is based on them becoming a national power. That won't happen with classes ranked in the 30s and 40s. Hey, I am a Deon hater, so I plan on continuing to hate.

A class in the 30s is great for Colorado considering their recent results, to be fair. But yea they more than likely still aren't going to get anywhere near being a legit national power under Deion. If he stays for the long run they can probably turn into a solid 8 or so win a year team with the potential to get to 10 wins every like 4 or so years. But saying they are going to be a legit national contender consistently is very very wishful thinking.

The problem though is I don't trust Deion will be there more than like 3-5 years. He will either get tired of it or take a better job if someone comes fishing for him.

I'm sure there are some Colorado ODs out there but I would think the vast majority want the following:

1. Respectability which they do not currently have
2. Fun watching games which they aren't currently having
3. The conversation around the program being positive instead of being a joke
4. Bowl game
5. Compete for the PAC
6. Positive movement in facilities upgrades

If in 2 years they check those boxes then they will expand the expectations.

Honestly, the first 5 are what I want for Auburn in this next year minus the compete for the SEC because I don't think that is doable next year. In year 3 of Freeze's tenure, we need to be near the top 5 in recruiting and in the conversation for the West and I think that is doable.

I think Arkansas has peaked and won't see much more forward traction.
Ole Miss did not have a good recruiting year at all.
Miss State is going to be State

Auburn needs to get their house together and if we do that in the West it will be Bama and LSU we have to worry about and we've done it plenty of times before. If we ditch divisions in the SEC that can only work in Auburn's favor for the future because no one plays a tougher conference schedule than us.
