It will be an underrated rivalry...
State of Texas doesn't exist without the work of native Tennesseans. Texas is pretty much a colony of Tennessee.
There is some truth there. But Fess Parker was born in Fort Worth.

It usually is up to if my kid is with me. If he stays home -- I tailgate. If he goes -- I go alcohol free.wait...we tailgating?
That seems oddDean Blevins reported today that he is hearing an 8 game conference schedule and OU and Florida being a strong possibility for a permanent game.
That's with the new ESPN contract in 2024. Basically replacing CBS on Saturday at 3pm. That doesn't include what they will get when (1) they renegotiate for the new 9 game IC, with 6-33 format, and (2) the expanded CFP where the SEC will get more money for having multiple teams that go further into the CFP.
Yeah neither makes sense so it's probably true lol. I have heard on other sites the Florida thing also. That seems odd
Looking at you ACC GOREverything is negotiable.. even GORs filed in Delaware.
They are not going to an 8 game conference schedule.. I've heard that one of the three permanent cross over games for ou could be FL too.. is there something there I don't know about? I still think it would be UT, Ark and mizzuYeah neither makes sense so it's probably true lol. I have heard on other sites the Florida thing also.
No idea why they would pair us with Florida in football. OU and Florida dominate softball and gymnastics though. I hope its texas, arky, and missou. I can drive to Dallas, Fayetville, and Columbia pretty easy. They are not going to an 8 game conference schedule.. I never had a quincenera. or however the fuck it's spelled. Are you more or less Mexican than @moxie?
Because there are rivalries worth keeping:Why would they have any permanent crossover games? Mix it up.
Our schedule is one of the toughest in the country every year and these changes just help us. People that talk shit about Auburn playing cupcakes make me laugh because they would cry playing our schedule.I'm glad UT is keeping the series with tosu and UM alive.. People worrying too much about hard schedules.. just play the games.. elite teams figure out how to navigate a tough schedule or a soft schedule.. shit works out in the end
I'll give you one.I never had a quincenera. or however the fuck it's spelled.

I’m all for rivalries, OU Texas is not a crossover game. I thought it was being said there might be 3 cross division permanent games per team, which really isn’t even possible I guess. If the number is 3 though there are games that make more sense for OU than Florida, Arkansas for one.Because there are rivalries worth keeping:
Alabama-Auburn (Iron Bowl)
Alabama-Tennessee (Third Saturday in October)
Arkansas-Texas
Auburn-Georgia (Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry)
Florida-Georgia (World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party)
Florida-Tennessee
LSU-Ole Miss (Magnolia Bowl)
Mississippi State-Ole Miss (Egg Bowl)
Oklahoma-Texas (Red River Showdown)
Tennessee-Vanderbilt
Texas-Texas A&M
Some of these have been played for more than 100 years. Tradition is a good thing.
There other games one might want to see continue as a yearly tradition include:
Alabama-LSU
Florida-Kentucky
Florida-LSU
LSU-Texas A&M
Then you want to have games that make sense geographically. Although obviously not an SEC game, Clemson v. UGA is a big rivalry because we are 60 miles apart. I think that there should be as many old B12/SWC games as makes sense. Seeing UT, OU, ATM and Arky play as often as possible is a good thing.
There is plenty of mixing up with a 3-6-6 format where you have the 3 permanent opponents, then rotate the other 12 every other year. Right now it's every 6 years in the SEC. That means UGA v. Bama will happen 3 times as often. That's a great thing.
lol we don't care about your schedule when your team is a hot mess sirOur schedule is one of the toughest in the country every year and these changes just help us. People that talk shit about Auburn playing cupcakes make me laugh because they would cry playing our schedule.
