UT and OU to SEC in 2024

Can't tell me aggy made a lot of money hosting U fucking Mass
Depends on "a lot". Most of our stadium is season tickets and student tickets paid through fees regardless of opponent. No idea if A&M gets a cut of secondary reselling.

You have to admit for College football that is pretty unique. For example, Nashville isn't dependent on Vandy games but everyone else in the SEC will feel it if there is one less home game.

I imagine in the current Big12 all the local economies with the exception of Austin feel a hit if there is one less game and that scenario exists all over college towns in America.

I get that you feel "special" but because it is good for Texas doesn't mean it is good for everyone else.
OOC scheduling is a mixed bag. Overall I think the SEC has been very n the weaker side of things, though Bama has discovered the neutral game. As a fan of CFB, I want better scheduling. It makes Saturdays more fun. One could argue that if you averaged 7.5 home games a year and replaced the Directional buttfuck State with Michigan/USC home and homes the economy would not miss a thing

Utah and Oregon are going to the SEC?!?! Holy shit!

To confirm, you mean the neutral site for the game and not the overall series?
Yes, UF will be one of our 3 permanent rivalries.

I am agnostic on the game being in Jax:

- As a student and a few years thereafter, it was great. Wild partying.
- As a young adult, even married, it was less wild, but still a lot of fun going to Amelia Island, hanging on the beach.
- A lot of people go every year, and it delivers a lot of economic impact.

But,

- It's in Florida, and a lot of the impact is in Florida.
- They have to drive an hour and a half, and we have to go 4+ hours
- Jax is a dump
- The stadium isn't special.
- Going to 9 IC games, with one neutral site game, means that in some years we could have as few as 3 SEC games in Athens.

- We are the only conference that has permanent OOC rivalry games - UGA v. Tech, UF v. FSU (you wouldn't want that every year over the last 40), USCjr v. Clemson, UK v. Louisville. We've had it easy of late, but Tech has had years where they were a real game.

- UA, UGA, LSU, and perhaps a few others have been playing intense OOC schedules for a long time.

- I don't think you can find any team that has a better OOC from 2016-2034 than UGA (you have to include the four OU and TX games that were scheduled as OOC).

- If anything, you should criticize the SEC for the 8 game IC schedule.

- The whole "we play crappy schools in week 11" is nonsense. The SEC starts IC games earlier than anyone else, and you either (1) play 3 or 4 easy games early as a pre-season, or (2) you stick some easy games in at the end as a bye week. It's the same thing, just different times of the year.

- If the SEC is on the weaker side of things, which conference is on the stronger side of OOC scheduling? I'd love to see those OOC schedules.

Also, the teams miss out on two great away locations. Games in the Swamp and in Athens are a lot of fun for the away teams. It will be great to go back to Gainesville every other year or so.

I would also say that if we ever said, let's do a rotation of Jax and Atlanta, the Gators' heads would explode.

Can't wait til we play y'all in San Antonio.. and we make the trip to play y'all in Atlanta

Don’t get your panties in a bunch. Georgia and Bama have probably been in the top percentile for OOC scheduling in the SEC. It’s an overall conference thing, like I said OOC scheduling is a mixed bag. I can say Texas has scheduled LSU (NC), Ranked Ark, Bama, and have Michigan and OSU coming up. Not a bad 5 year run, excluding COVID year

Don’t get your panties all in a wad. Georgia and is in the top percentile of the SEC on OOC scheduling. I should have added them with Bama for discovering neutral site, even if Georgia does them in Atlanta. Having a FBS day is going to get a conference mocked. As for scheduling Texas has scheduled LSU (NC), Ranked Arkansas (on thre road), Bama (home and home), and have trips to Ann Arbor and Columbus coming up. I believe the last P5 road game Georgia played was 2017 vs ND. I should give Auburn some credit, they do some home and homes with quality opponents

(apologize for the double post, not sure what happened there)

Please show where my undies are wadded. I simply pointed out something contra to what you wrote. Glad to have you show where I am wrong.

What is it with people thinking people get upset over a sports board? Sheesh.

First, your post wasn't UGA v. UT. Your comment was that the SEC as a conference was on the low end of scheduling OOC. I challenged that as I don't think it's wrong. As I asked, tell me all the other conferences that are on the strong end of the scheduling. Certainly there must be several if we are on the weak side of the OCC scheduling. And, no, undies not in a twist ... just asking for clarification of your post.

You’re challenging, because you think it is right? Is this my wife’s sock account?

Well, the ACC ALSO has permanent OOC rivalry games with GT vs. UGA, Clemson vs. South Car, FSU vs. Florida and Louisville vs. Kentucky. / sarcasm

Of course, Iowa State (Big Xii) vs. Iowa (B1G) is also a permanent OOC rivalry game.
