The Longhorns

Whatever he did back then must have been enough to get him into the QB. Skill must have been there.
no.. SMU turned him into one.. Gilbert got benched that same season he beat Nebraska. That was a bad team.. and they still went on the road and beat them. But it doesn't matter, Swoopes could have been the QB, UT still would have won. Nebraska stays losing to UT

SMU seems to be doing that a lot lately, turning high promise but undercoached QB's into something decent.

Yep.. go figure an offensive minded spread HC turning a Gatorade NPOY spread QB into a draft pick. Wonder what happened with Mack and his new awesome wannabe Bama 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense?

Look at the top 10 to find out.

LMAO You sound about as stupid as I would be if Mike Tyson pushed me away for getting in his face and then I asked him "Is that all the harder you can hit you goofy talking son of a bitch?".

Have you watched the Big 12 play football? Mike Tyson is Texas, I assume? Fuck out of here, stupid.

too bad it took him 4 horrific offensive teams to close his era at Texas, then watching CFB on ESPN to realize.. hey the spread actually works (despite winning a MNC and appearing in another with the damn spread)...

even u don't believe that homie.. but Herman is getting fired, happening soon.
Frost will turn it around. I do believe it. We can't fire coaches every 3 or 4 years. Have to give him time.

What about Texas? I don't understand why you guys are so bad. Your quarterback is a stud, but after that. Meh.

They are undisciplined plain and simple. I loved trolling Tom because it was funny to me but these were the warning signs.. Mocking Locke in the TX Bowl, Doing the double fisted bird on live TV on signing day, trying to start a fight with Gundy at the end of a loss... How we expect a team to focus on the small details that require discipline when the HC doesn't?
One good thing that came from this experience is that the roster is in a MUCH better shape than what he inherited from Strong. Some work is needed along the LB and OL but maybe an actual OL coach can work with the talented (composte ranking) players in that room.

Some of those losses were inexplicable.
What was that WR y'all had? Toon? he single handily costed y'all that game with multiple drops..

Well even Arkansas and Ole Miss are upgrades over most Big12 opponents because they have more fan support and are the state schools. Most of the Big12 schools are in the shadow of another state school and don't have large fan bases. The Kansas schools might be the exception besides OU and Texas of course.
Iowa State and West Virginia have better fan support than the Kansas schools IMO.

Too many schools in one state and yes no question the distance hurts WVU,it’s fans, recruiting ect. 700 miles from the closest conference opponent? Terrible.

The money helped WVU and maybe a little more exposure in a different region but... that’s about it
Money is now THE deciding factor. While "all" money matters, television money matters the most.

Kansas Jayhawks have more fans than both schools put together. Issue is that their zeal is more into basketball than football (similar to Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, etc.)

I checked out their stadium size around realignment time and was shocked at what they could hold if people were so inclined to go see them. I think they have remodeled or changed dunno but it was like...70k capacity at one time IIRC.
Hosted the 1974 Super Bowl

2010 Auburn is a great example. Take Cam Newton off that team and they are 9-3 or worse. Similar situation with LSU last year.
Auburn didn't sustain it. We'll see how LSU does but I have my doubts. There are really only four schools that have sustained any degree of CFP success...and one of those is questionable. Bama and Clemson have. Ohio State is next tier but don't even have a win since their natty and one very embarassing loss. Then Oklahoma...but they've only showed up in one semifinal and really sucked other than that.

But, I don't blame Bama, Clemson, tOSU or Oklahoma whatsoever. I blame their other conference members in total for not knocking them out of consideration and getting in.

SEC - LSU and Georgia have appearances. Who else?
ACC - FSU has that 2014 appearance that was embarassing. Who else?
B1G - Sparty helped once and got destroyed. Who else?
Big 12 - Not one damn team! Zip, none, nada.
Pac 12 - We won't even go there.
