Bears trade the pick

The DJ Moore aspect of the trade is pretty sweet.

Moore, Claypool, Mooney, Kmet, sounds like it could actually be a strength of the team.

Now let's go spend some of that FA money. McGlinchey? Dre'Mont Jones...Tremaine Edwards?

Bears secondary is lit. Will be one of the best in the league this year.

Front 7 is as bad as I've ever seen. Save for my lil' puddin face, Jack Sanborn, and maybe the rook Dominique Robinson, they all gotta go. It is a glaring weakness. Greater weakness than the o-line or WRs be a landslide imo.

Stack that front 7 in FA and draft. Plug an olineman or two via FA and draft. I think this team could make a very quick turnaround.

I think it’s a good move for them. They’re set at QB and trash pretty much everywhere else. Getting a solid WR and stockpiling picks is exactly what they need. They need to shore up that o line so they don’t kill Justin Fields before he has a chance to show what he can do.

Call the Vikings. I read Zadarius Smith wants out. Maybe a trade could happen.

It's a weird deal, cuz part of the o-line's problem, is in fact, Justin Fields. They are a very good run-blocking team, but he is a bit erratic back there. Still wants to trust his athleticism over his reads and eyes. He will need to improve within the pocket quite a bit. I think the could plug one or two spots there in FA and be fine...maybe draft a couple early....but they are not trash everywhere. Their secondary is legit, with Brisker, Gordon, Jaylon Johnson and Eddie Jackson. Their front 7 is just awful tho. As bad as can be.

good move for the Bears.
I assume the Panthers like a particular QB to make this move, which takes them off the market for a FA QB.

TBH I’ve only seen a few Bears games (because I live in Dallas and we don’t show them very often). What I did see wasn’t good.

Agree on Fields. As much as GMs seem to love “mobile quarterbacks”, it only really works when their mobility just keeps the pass play open longer. Quarterbacks who use their mobility as part of the running game don’t last too long (as evidenced by the league-wide disinterest in Lamar Jackson). They just end up getting hurt.

Now if Carter could kindly fall to 9 cuz of his legal troubles, that would be swell.

I'd hafta take Monday off due to excessive masturbation.

If I missed work every time for that my resume would probably be emptier than Jeffrey Lebowski's :noidea:

I didn't think there was any way possible to fuck this up, and I'm not saying they did per se, but it just feels weird and anticlimactic for this to be done in the first week of March?
It's still a haul. While I agree they could have gotten more, they didn't get fucked

With the 9th pick of the draft, the Bears select Bijan Robinson,rb Alabama.......

Assuming tho that we get 2 olinrman in freeagency and Montgomery signs elsewhere.........

Im still even on board for JSN,even tho we got Moore......

Great move.

Moore was a really nice get. Plus, a bunch of picks.

Carolina is going QB but they have no weapons for their young QB....they better draft some or be active in FA.

Fields has some pretty nice weapons on offense now.

At #9 the Bears could go Jalen Carter if he slips like he should.

Just heard on Sports Center Carolina could trade back to 3rd or 4th if somebody else really wants that #1 pick.

Chicago has 4 of the top 64 picks.

Nice.

As much as that would help their offense. Their offense wasn't really the problem last season. 2-6 in games they scored more than 20 points last season

All signs point to Carolina going QB with this trade but they could shock us and trade back to get more equity

I like the Moore pickup, but don't understand why this is happening now.

Been thinking about this. With Rodgers about to be traded away to the Jets, I wonder if Chicago wanted to set the tone, instead of having to follow it.

For example of what I mean here — if the Bears just traded what is essentially a rookie QB (no.1 pick) for two firsts, two seconds and a WR1, what do you think the Packers are going to ask for a SB winning future HOF QB from the Jets? You’d think the asking price will now be more than what Chicago got.

But if the roles were reversed — and the Pack got the deal the Bears just got — reason says the Bears would then get less for a rookie QB/1st pick in the draft than the Pack just got for trading away a legend.

So what I’m saying here is the Bears basically beat Green Bay to the punch in terms of dictating the haul they were going to receive.
