Between the Diaz knee blowout and Freddie Freeman’s hamstring, this will probably be the last WBC to feature big MLB stars

Doubt they change when it occurs. They aren't going to put it in the middle of the MLB or Japanese seasons. And putting it after the seasons end, could potentially have lesser player turnout.

Putting it now, makes the most sense. Atleast putting it in the middle of spring training allows the players to start building up for it for a few weeks.

I agree...there really isn't a better time for it to happen...but more injuries to professional players are likely to happen now when they are trying to push themselves too early for something like this.

I mean, that's Scherzer's take as well

"For me personally, I'm not ready to step into a quasi-playoff game right now, physically. If I do that, I'm rolling the dice with my arm," Scherzer explained. "It’s hard enough to try to make 33 starts and throw 200 innings as it is with a normal ramp-up in spring. If I go out there and try to do too much early in spring, it can really affect me throughout the season."

I definitely get the reluctance behind pitchers not wanting to participate. But pitchers in the WBC aren't pushed much more than they are in the WBC. Mark Derosa for USA is under strict orders by each team to have certain pitch counts for each pitcher.

But I also get it from the pitchers perspective, not wanting to be thrown in the spotlight when typically they would be using this time to be working on certain pitches or situations.

Enjoyed.

Wait. Dumbass did it during the celebration?
you can really hurt knee doing just about anything...he wasn't doing anything crazy with the celebration.

knee ligament injuries terrify me...I am worried it will happen to me just going up stairs or something

Only the fucking Mets. Seriously...

Little bit of schtick. Little bit of the spectrum
Yea, um lotta bit of spectrum.

The guy has a chew toy that he chews on during high stress situations. It’s pretty well known how severely autistic Frank is and barstool employees constantly rip into him for it while also feeding it for clicks. They are also paying him decent money and giving him a bunch of great tickets to shit, so whatever.

Sorry but I've overexerted myself making fun of the Mets and the Texans.

I need a break.
