PAC News

Big Ten moving quicker than people originally thought. Colorado and Arizona aren't stupid. They know what's about to happen and they're trying to be proactive and get a spot into the Big 12. I don't think they're the most desirable PAC 12 teams available so they need to act decisively in order to get a spot.

This is where we differ. It doesn’t appear to me even with a Commish the B1G will continue to expand for now. That’s why I’m sort of puzzled by why Colorado would jump this soon. To me the B12 will always take Colorado given the position It’s in. I would think in 5 years or so then maybe. But now seems weird.

Time will tell. I've been consistent on my belief that the Big Ten will expand out west again before the 2024 season. I've stated that since the USC and UCLA move was announced. The media market has turned sour and that's certainly made it more difficult but I still believe they can get to 18 (rather than 20). Colorado's smoke because much less puzzling when you look at it through this angle.

Yeah Deion wants back in TX.. has a lot of connections in the DFW area

But lol at Colorado... Their only asset is Coach Prime, they are terrible in all sports, they don't pack the stadium and don't travel. Like Deion but right now, feels like a gimmick until he proves he can turn them around. Big12 will take anyone in, so if I were CO, i'd jump at the chance

Colorado would be a good addition to the B12. It honestly made no sense they joined the P12 to begin with. I understood their thinking behind it, but it just hasn't come to fruition. Their basketball program is okay. Certainly not the dumpster fire football has been the last two decades. They've given their fans no reason to pack the stadium or travel. In the late 80's and 90's that was different.

And I disagree about the B12 taking anyone. They've done a really good job once Texas/OU left. They have a bball powerhouse, and have great options for addition and are really stable right now.

I get that and all, but Colorado’s gotten recruits from Cali before While playing in the Big8/12. Wasn’t McCartneys son in law( qb that died, Aunese) from Cali?

I just feel like it’s weird them jumping to the B12 all of a sudden. Feels like they know something else.

Maybe they do know something, I'm not sure. I just think from a fit perspective, it makes more sense, especially with their current recruitment strategy.

That’s fair. And it’s not that I think the B1G will never take UO and uDub, this just doesn’t seem like the time. But I’ve been wrong before.

I wont complain if the B12 takes just two PAC teams. (One preferably being Arizona). I’m not for 4 teams as the distance is hellish from us but I just can’t see Arizona leaving without ASU. That’s why I say it’s puzzling Colorado would do this now. But for now, it’s all rumors.

Ohh they definitely fit imo. Maybe it was the media deals that sucked?

lol “anyone”

Sorry your dream for the B12 to die is slowly slipping away.
wait my dream is for the Big12 to die?

LOL.. I didn't wish it death, everyone just thinks it is. I stand by what I said too Big12 would just take about anyone sans a SDSU or Boise St.. they want to solidify themselves as the 3rd or 4th best conference after schools move in '24

What's interesting is that they are reaching further West now.. I bet if you put truth sermon in the ADs coffee in about a year.. they will say UH, Cincy and UCF were mistakes

I think it will be interesting to see what the Big 12 does. As @TechRaiderRider just stated, Colorado is probably trying to get ahead of the game. If UO and UW do leave the conference, the Big 12 will have their choice of everyone left. If I were the Big 12, I don't think Colorado would be #1 on my list.

Of the corner 4, my preference would be:
1) Utah
2) ASU
3) Colorado
4) Arizona

That said, I don't know if the Big 12 has the votes to add all 4 of them. I'd imagine some of eastern teams in the Big 12 wouldn't support adding all 4. And you may not be able to separate ASU and Zona.

lol, no one believes you didn’t and still don’t. But it’s convenient to say otherwise now.

Had we not gotten BYU, the PAC (reluctantly) most likely adds them and SDSU to the networks liking and isn’t in this situation. BYU is absolutely a good add for the B12. The others, meh maybe the B12 regrets but oh well.

I don’t see the B12 adding just one. Also Utah prez and AD have seemed to irritate a few B12 admins with their comments. I wouldn’t put them at 1. For me itd be Arizona first. Probably ASU second and then Colorado. But if I’m a betting man unfortunately I think theyll add 4.

lol i don't need the big12 to die lol.. we just have one more season to compete in it.. Don't confuse good riddance with hope it implodes lol

Word is Utah and BYU have ugly beef.. enough that Utah would let pride get in the way and stick with the PAC til the very very end..(if it does die)

These are business decisions. Utah, in my opinion, is clearly the program that is most invested in their program of the 4. It would be a mistake for the Big 12 to prioritize Arizona or Colorado over them. Now if Utah begrudgingly won't join the conference, that's a different story entirely.

lol, Utah will come begging when they have no where else to go. We all know this.

We Already have a team in their area, I’m truthfully not sure how much they would bring in. Az gets us a new timezone with a neat blue blood basketball team. Az is first on my list

who is no one outside u, lol..u always take this so personal?

Is Udub, Oregon and Utah any good in basketball? I know BYU usually has some strong years, Colorado sucks

lol
they (UT/ou) won't be playing in the Big12 for the '22 season

Word is that UT and ou would pay the fee rather than stay.. but there's confidence that it won't come to that. Some other shoes are about to drop and the conference implodes
