PAC News

Az love is more for basketball. Plus it’s a new timezone. For football the better add would probably be ASU. But it’s likely we’d get both if they do come.
Arizona and their 1 90s championship and the most losses to double digit seeds?

I think it will be interesting to see what the Big 12 does. As @TechRaiderRider just stated, Colorado is probably trying to get ahead of the game. If UO and UW do leave the conference, the Big 12 will have their choice of everyone left. If I were the Big 12, I don't think Colorado would be #1 on my list.

Of the corner 4, my preference would be:
1) Utah
2) ASU
3) Colorado
4) Arizona

That said, I don't know if the Big 12 has the votes to add all 4 of them. I'd imagine some of eastern teams in the Big 12 wouldn't support adding all 4. And you may not be able to separate ASU and Zona.
I don’t think geography makes a damn bit of difference anymore. Syracuse ain’t on the Atlantic coast and Missouri ain’t in the Southeast. It should matter for the sake of sports other than football. It is easy for football. Football travel is only every other year. Hell, if Rutgers has to play @ USC and @UCLA in the same season, so what….as long as it isn’t back to back weeks.

Seems there’s some bluster on the tweeter that Colorado may rejoin the B12. The only reasons I could see them doing this is because the deal wont be nearly enough money for linear or the money is there But on streaming. Because why the fuck else would they bail this soon? Seems like UO and uDub aren’t leaving for the B1G yet.
There is no "leaving for the B1G" thats not how it works.

Of course Colorado wants to go back to the Big XII they were better then

To be fair Missouri shares borders with KY, TN and Arkansas. KY only shares borders with two SEC states.

Syracuse definitely qualifies for being on the Atlantic Coast. Not sure what you’re thinking on that one. If Clemson qualifies then Syracuse does.

I think a lot of people that are criticizing the Big 12's additions are doing so with the gift of hindsight. The Big 12 needed more teams to solidify their future and help prepare for any future poaching. They did a good job adding the best available schools. There's no way they could have known the PAC would become vulnerable later on. The Big 12 did what they had to do to survive IMO and didn't really end up with any horrible additions.
i think cinci is going to be a dumpster fire..the attendance will look terrific when UT and ou roll in to the new addition campuses.. however the following year.. will it be like that still?

they have been in decline since Klatt left

I doubt Cincy will be a dumpster fire. Cincy has been a solid program for a while now.

They sold out every single game last year and that was with a home schedule of Kennesaw State, Indiana, USF, Navy, ECU and Tulane. I don't think filling up the stadium with a Big 12 schedule is going to be an issue.

People say it doesn't matter anymore but I think once things get rolling it will be an issue.. hell weren't some of the rumors from the BiG about the frustrating tasks of scheduling with both LA schools?

UT now being the furthest school West in the SEC furthest trip is to Columbia, SC which is 1,143 miles away..
LA to Columbus (which isn't the furthest campus East in the BiG is 2,241 miles away
LA to Omaha the shortest trip is still 1,551 miles away..

Sure planes go fast and all but it's going to be interesting to see how they schedule games for the LA schools.. no way they do back to back games 3 time zones away, right?

bro, their coach left and best players went to the NFL or followed him to Wiscaansin

EDIT.. and the new guy was one they were waiting to unload from louisville lol

They've had plenty of coaches leave in the past. Dantonio, Kelly, etc. The program will be fine long term.

Anything can be rationalized if you spin it enough. Good job.

Like I said, scheduling won’t be a big hurdle for football. It’ll be a royal pain in the ass for the others.

These moves aren't about basketball. Plus the timezone only matters because it allows the Big 12 to play more games in the late time slot. Any of the corner 4 can provide that flexibility.

As for football, Arizona has probably been the worst over the last 25 years (Other than Colorado). Which explains why those two are being the most proactive with the Big 12.
While it’s not totally about basketball, it actually does matter to BY. He knows he’s never going have some football powerhouse, BB is the next best thing.

wait.. what did i say that was wrong? I said UT and ou would pay the fees but they thought they wouldn't have to because of the rumors that the Pac12 would also poach some schools..apparently SC had other thoughts to that.. and no one else wanted any of the remaining 8 schools.

I didn't say i was hoping it would implode
Why’d you erase everything else I said?

What‘d you say was wrong? that OU and Texas would leave by 2022. That the Big 12 would implode because teams would leave for the PAC.

That’s what you said wrong dummie.

But thanks for erasing what I outlined you said wrong, dumbass.

AZ schools are interesting, they are getting more transplants there and the level of HSFB is improving..problem is..nobody wants to stay there

in '23 their top TEN players went out of state
In '22 their top SIXTEEN players went out of the state
In '21 thier top THIRTEEN players went out of state
In '20 their top FOURTEEN players went out of state

Maybe in a decade those recruits will feel more of a state pride and stay? But the schools in TX, osu, ksu, isu, ku would benefit from that
New timezone, a basketball stud. Really not that hard to see.
