Colorado's star of the spring game...is now.. gone

We will probably see major transfer activity every year Deion is there. Seems like if after 1 year Deion thinks "you cant cut it" (before you even get a real chance) he will tell you to get lost. This is not the way to build a program.

They were bad we all know that.

But look at the lot of the transfers he brought in this year, they really gonna be that much better?

A bunch of Jackson State FCS caliber players and guys from lower caliber FCS schools who really weren't getting attention from top schools at all, that's most of them.

This is so fucking funny. Look, if you think running off 60 of your 85 scholarship players is a good idea, you are an idiot. These are kids that wanted to be at Colo because they like the school. What is Deon bringing in?

- A bunch of guys who were, at best, 2 deep. More likely these guys were 3 or 4 on the depth chart.
- A bunch of guys who are excited about Deon's attitude ... I am sure that "me first" attitude will be great for building a team culture.
- A bunch of guys who could care less about Colorado as a school, and while that is somewhat less important in today's environment, it is still something you want for the core of your team.

I get that you would break records seeing how bad they were last year. But, he's running off players that are better than the guys he is brining in who wanted to go to Colorado.

If you look at the most successful teams in CFB - UGA, Bama, Clemson, tOSU, UM - the common theme is that they all have great team culture. This ain't the way to do it. I will stick to what I have said before - Deon's narcissism will keep him from ever being a big time CFB coach.

lol i'd love to see where the mass exodus of players land..

Is Colorado going to be able to field a team come September?

I want to talk shit about the buffs, but knowing Nebraska we'll probably still lose to them.

This. Let's look at our transfers because it's likely that some of our transfers are going to be the best ones out there:

- 2 TEs - neither were all that good, but they will be good system guys and good teammates.
- Sherman to CornDawgs - he got injured early on, and just couldn't crack the line-up as we are loaded at ILB. He will be a good one for NE.
- Bear Alexander - dude's a cancer ... he's Cox > UF all over again. There isn't a person at UGA that is bothered by him being gone.
- Trez Marshal to Bama - he's another ILB who couldn't get any PT. He will be a good one for Bama. Great guy, great teammate.
- Rain Davis to UCF - he's another ILB who couldn't get PT. He will be a very good player in the B12 for Gus. Great guy and teammate.
- Jaheim Singletary to Arky - another PT casualty. He's a former 5* that couldn't get on the field. Good attitude.
- AD Mitchel to UTx - he's a stud, hated to lose him. He'll be one of UTx best players. Kind of cocky, but aren't most WRs?
- Arik Gilbert to CornDawgs - I'd wouldn't be surprised if he never plays a down. He has serious mental issues. UGA did all they could.

Those are the main ones ... most for lack of PT. Gilbert and Alexander are head cases, and Bear in particular could cause all sorts of problems. No surprise he had Colorado on his list.

Those are the ones off one of the top 2 recruiting teams. Once you start getting out of the top 10, the guys leaving for lack of PT aren't all that talented and/or are head cases or attitude problems. And I think that Deon's personality will draw players that tend to not have a team first attitude that will cause problems.

Nowhere great i'd expect. But the greater majority of the players he brought in really aren't much of a upgrade if even a upgrade at all.
it's an upgrade for them already if Deion and his staff ok'd it.. if you are gonna struggle, even badly, let it be because of the kids you brought..not inherited

Deion didn't get a SC, UT, TN, LSU even NU job where there are some good players.. he took over a declining program that finished with just one win a season ago.. I mean they weren't even competitive outside their only win..

Arik Gilbert is such a head case.. but i know a couple NU fans that are really high on him and think Rhule finally guides him into the top 5 player overall he was ranked as..

because LSU, UF, UGA all suck at development lol

Arik has serious mental problems. Bi-polar type stuff. There is no doubt he is talented. He showed that his freshman year at LSU. He moved to UGA to be closer to home thinking that would help and UGA did everything they could do. It's really not a development issue - he's really, really talented. The question is can he be in a good space in his head so that he can apply that talent.

He's like Brittany Spears - very talented, but totally fucked up in the head to the point that she can't apply her talent.

Yikes. Everyone knows Colorado was going to see some processing but this goes way beyond that. There aren't enough quality guys in the portal to expect CU is going to find quality replacements for all these guys. And a lot of these guys transferring were contributors last year. At worst, you want those guys to hang around for depth purposes. I predicted CU to win 4 games in 2023 but even that may be tough now.
