Nebraska Cornhuskers 2024 Recruiting Thread (Commit list in OP)

For those keeping track... Colorado had 17 players enter the transfer portal TODAY... just today. One of them was their best returning WR another a starting LBer.

There's flipping a roster... and then there's this. I don't think we've ever seen it on this level.

As expected there's some scholly roster trimming going on to get down to 85.

A lot of these guys were 'Best of the Rest' G5 recruits who got their chance at P5 level and just never developed. i.e. Not 'Diamonds in the Ruff'.

It'll actually stay that way unless Coach Rhule can get the Huskers out of the (3-9)/(4-8) type of results. He did a good job salvaging what looked to be a disaster 2023 recruiting class, but they're still lightyears away from being Top 15 or even Top 20 for that matter.

Rhule seems to be polished and a very good communicator. Get back to 9 wins and he'll have a lot more to sell in living rooms. Being a blueblood, Top 15 and even Top 10 recruiting classes should be routine.

Does this count as 2024 recruiting news? Just seems like the wrong place to put it.

That being said, I assumed we'd lose some QBs over in the 10,000 posts thread. I thought maybe Torres would wait a year, assuming Casey gets job in fall and see if he could have won it for 2024, but better luck to him wherever he goes.

I think Casey stays regardless of whether or not he gets the starting job. He wants to get into coaching - Rhule has been a coach maker... obvious move there.

There's going to be a lot of names entering the portal. Gotta get down below 85 so we can get another portal player or two in the summer. I'm guessing you see 10 more or so.

The portal really sucks for teams and fans IMO. There should have been some form of rule limiting times a player can change teams, First, sure, no problem, second time sit out games, third time sit a season. That would certainly put some restraint on this.

Wonder why he left? So that leaves Sims as likely starter?
