Of interest,

- Mizzou and Kentucky just a smidge in front of lowly Vandy. Say WUT?
- UTjr spends so little and makes so much. They are the meth dealers of CFB.
- ATM - all I heard about was their oil money ... 10th in the SEC. Talk about little brother, which leads us to ...
- UT in first place and can't win shit for years. Damn, how can you be so bad with all that money?

Which are the richest and poorest SEC football programs? (And where do Texas and Oklahoma fit in?) | Jones

I think the most shocking thing is Ole Miss is clearing 33mm more than Miss State. Miss State is bringing in 55% of the revenue that Ole Miss is.

This is going to start showing up in a major way with NIL and the separation is going to get even more lopsided. Even if the schools in the bottom half end up signing good players or pick up guys that were missed they aren't going to stick around they are going to go get paid. If NIL was around and in full force do you think Dak finishes his career at Miss State? If he didn't get paid I don't see it happening.

lulz. UGA and their "just more than $1B in endowments" fans wanting to talk shit? :pound:

How much does OP shell out a month in paid subscriptions? I swear everything he posts is a paywall

Edit: apparently just the Big Ten numbers link requires a subscription?

I’m going to “splain this again Lucy”. It is the Jerry Jones/Dallas Cowboy influence that permeates Texas. A team doesn’t need to play winning football as long as there are enough fans/donors that fork over a lot of money regardless of performance.

I don't think the numbers in the OP article are correct.

The Univ. of Texas athletic department reported a surplus of $14,137,637 and generated $239,290,648 “in operating revenue” during the 2021-22 athletic year, according to Danny Davis of the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN. The university also claimed $225,153,011 “in operating expenditures during that span.”
Revenue for fiscal '22 was only $14m and that's with LHN money in the mix, which the OP article excluded. Not sure how the article figures TU made $110m in profit from football.

bro everything was jacked from the covid season

COVID was the '21 fiscal year, but yeah I agree it wasn't an instant snapback after COVID.
However, the OP article is claiming his numbers were for the 21-22 fiscal year which is the same as the article I posted.

I don't see UT not being one of the top earners.. what separates them from most is the amount of donations they get for sports. It's why all their upgrades and new arenas have been bankrolled by BMDs.

Get ready to bend the knee @WhosYourDawggy

All the BMD's is why I also don't think the OP article is right. A&M in FY22 brought in $91.3m just from the 12th man foundation.

But OP article says all athletic revenue was $81m.
I think OP should ask for a refund from the 18 different schools he claimed he went to.

Don’t care about all that. Just care about winning. I don’t see a dime of UGA’s revenue

Those big money donors will need to pay off a lot of teams in the SEC if they want to win a conference title any time soon. :hide:

they just gotta keep spending it on recruiting and the transfer portal.. We'll be alright

Not true. If it were possible to buy an SEC title A&M would have all of them since we joined, sir.

You'd be alright if you stayed in the Big 12. You won't be alright in the SEC. Take 2023 for example -- in the Big 12, Texas would have the #1 recruiting class for football and they'd have more 5 star recruits signed than the rest of the conference combined.
Unfortunately for them -- two teams finished with better recruiting classes -- both of them in the SEC and both of them signed more 5 star recruits than Texas. Hell -- Alabama signed TWICE AS MANY five star recruits than Texas, which is absurd, because it isn't like Texas signed 2 or 3, they signed 6 five star recruits. Bama though signed 12.

It'd be expensive as you'd have to pay off entire teams to throw games and you'd have to do it multiple times, but you throw enough money at anything and it will work. :)

According to Nick everything good that happens at A&M is because we cheated and paid for it, so clearly it is known funds are not in short supply at A&M.

What gets me is those BMDs are savvy business guys for the most part. But they really don’t seem to care about their ROI when it comes to their beloved rusty cows’ performance. Same for the agnuts. Both keep forking it over though.
