wonder how that feels lolEspecially when you get everyone's 'best shot', when they have you circled on the calendar kinda thing.
u know Mizzu never won a conference championship in the big 12 but was able to play for 2 SEC championship games back to back..
all it takes is to get into the championship right? Roll the dice then.. but even getting there with uGA and FL is still something...and gave up more than 50 points on average in the two games. Northwestern has also played for the Big 10 title twice in the last 5 years...are we going to pretend they are a contender too?
We didn't position ourselves for shit we just got lucky on the Vandy draw but when your other two are Alabama and Georgia it makes sense and nobody sane has anything to bitch about.
You are going to be put in a corner but at no time did I ever bring up which division you would be in because all along I thought we would go with pods of 3 or 4 teams. It's working out well and it will be fun to watch Arkansas extend their winning streak on you.
I'll be curious to see what Texas and Oklahoma get as permanent rivals...they will get each other, but I doubt they get a traditional SEC power. Of course, the reverse is also true, no traditional SEC power will get Texas or Oklahoma. Hopefully they will be on the opposite sides of the 'other 6' in the 3-6-6 model.
Those were not the UGA and UF teams that you think they were. The SECE was at its worst then.all it takes is to get into the championship right? Roll the dice then.. but even getting there with uGA and FL is still something

You are off a bit:One of those two years UGA beat Missouri but Missouri had an easier SEC West slate and made it in as a result.
You are off a bit:
- In 2013 they beat us. It is the only time they have beaten us since they got into the SEC. We lost 3 SEC games that year, including to Vandy. We were decimated by injuries, and Richt's poor roster management killed us.
- In 2014, we beat them like a drum, 34-0, but then lost to UF and USCjr. East v. West really didn't have anything to do with it.
It's really simple ... Pinkel had them playing well when they came into the SEC, and it just so happened that UF, UGA, UTjr were way down. Pinkel left, between UF, UGA and UTjr we had better years until Smart got there in 2016 and started dominating the east.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Mizzou and A&M have performed in the SEC just about like they did in the Big 12. Not much difference. One of those two years UGA beat Missouri but Missouri had an easier SEC West slate and made it in as a result.

I'd be willing to bet Texas and OU will also perform about the same....with one exception. OU won't have a run of conference championships in the SEC like they did in the Big 12.
All that is true. Point is, overall, the four teams have and will finish each year about the same as they did in the Big 12. Check out A&M and Mizzou’s last 10 years in the Big 12 with where they’ve finished in the SEC since joining. I think you’ll find they are very similar. Again, I expect the same for Texas snd OU except for the run of CCs for OU.OU won't do as well because they are down right now but that would be the case with Big12 as well.
Missouri's success was Gary Pinkel. They won 2-3 Big12 North Championships with him as well and he had them hovering in top 10. Any program can make a run with the right coach.

Missouri showed the could be competitive under Pinkel ... we all agree a coach can make a difference. Pinkel had them one game from the NC game in 2007 when they lost to an Orange Bowl bound Kansas. They the two SECE titles, even though that division was way down, was impressive. They just need a coach like a lot of other teams ... Texas, as an example. To me, Texas A&M has been more bluster and hype than anything and really hasn't been that successful with the exception of the Johnny Manziel run. Kevin Sumlin tended to have the better teams out of all of the Aggie coaches to date but his teams seem to have second season collapses. Texas A&M has just not lived up to their hype or recruiting class rankings. They are a lot like the Longhorns in that aspect.
Missouri didn't really have a lot of hype around them. They started 5-7, had the two division titles back to back, and then had a year or two after with some success then Pinkel left and they basically have been a perennial 7-5 to 5-7 team. They are not just horrible, there are worse teams in the division, but they tend to not be great either. Just middle of the road team that fights for bowl eligibility. I tend to compare them to South Carolina (although Gamecocks get more hype) and I think that tends to be a good fit for them.
I will say that Missouri had more high around round ball and they really haven't been that good at round ball although they did have a good 2022 year this past season.
I guess where the Big12 tends to be perceived as weaker is examples like this past season. No way TCU wins the SEC or even gets close but they won the Big12. Kansas State is probably an 8-4 team in the SEC as well. I do agree that OU and Texas would be about the same as their 2022 campaign in the SEC but definitely the top teams in the Big12 would have struggled in the SEC.
Texas is just in this constant rotation of underachievement and I think a lot of that is the difficulty they have getting the right coach. I am not sure Sarkisian is the man but history says that programs like Texas eventually figure it out and land the right guy. It may take 15 years or so but it eventually happens.

You are correct. That was the year of chaos at the end of the season.Nah, Misery actually beat KU that year. They were murdered by OU in the Big XII CCG.
mizzu got murdered earlier that season by UT too... North was always openYou are correct. That was the year of chaos at the end of the season.
Thanks for the clarification.
