Top 5 albums of the 21st century

John Candy No GIF by Laff

I'm not big into Godsmack or In This Moment, but they both put on pretty dam good live shows.

I'll allow Slipknot though, they rock live.

Yes they do. They rock in the studio, too, though. The list of killing it both places is much more expansive.

As a genre, I would add bluegrass to the Live is Best list. I can think of only 3 bluegrass albums I have owned but have been to probably 25 bluegrass fests.
Bluegrass is awesome both live and on albums. I think you would enjoy the Molly Tuttle album I listed in the OP, and anything with Billy Strings is badass(I’d say he stole the show, but Willie Nelson wasn’t gonna let some opening act steal his thunder)

And these fuckers were badass, you’re a guitar picker, your fingers are gonna hurt:

But, Jimmy Martin is still the king

I'm gonna tune my accoustic to 5 string tuning and try to pick up some claw skills. Pray for me.

You ever listen to the New Lost City Ramblers?

Not really bluegrass. But kinda.

And the real version to me. I heard it first. The studio version just doesn’t sound right after hearing the Fillmore East version

Well it isn't the first one I heard. Can't help your being a nosepicker come lately...

I get that. A couple songs for me that are like that:

Free Bird. The live Atlanta version is far superior
And

Dazed and Confused. The How the West was Won is the version in my head.

Look who was right there in my suggestions when I read this

That’s awesome. Bela Fleck is a badass too

I sent my sister a different video of Chris this morning because I am trying to convince her to see Nickel Creek with me this summer, I'm guessing that's the reason this video was sitting right there at the top. I should have sent her this instead, it is just an absolutely mind blowing four and a half minutes :thumb:

I’d love to see Nickel Creek. Shouldn’t take much convincing if your sister has any taste

It's not really "her thing" but she has pretty broad/open musical tastes and is a bit like me in that I think she enjoys watching anyone who is great at something.
