I'm pretty sure that's Bela Fleck on banjo.
He's bad ass. I have a bunch of his jazz/fusion stuff with The Flecktones.

It is, and Sam Bush on the mandolin. Honestly, that version of New Grass Revival is one of the most talented bands of all timeI'm pretty sure that's Bela Fleck on banjo.

You ever get a "what are you talking about [or blank stare]?" from some young'uns?Funny enough. Whenever I have to conduct interviews, one of my last questions is "Beatles or Stones?" You can usually tell about people by what they answer.
only once or twice. Surprisingly many young'uns (between 20-25), like my kids, actually listen to older music. You ever get a "what are you talking about [or blank stare]?" from some young'uns?
You should listen to what you like without worrying about other people. That's my advice, but I know it can be hard to abide by.I like Tool, they’re a good band, but I rarely listen to them because Tool fans tend to be weirdos that make my skin crawl
Revolver and the White Album were good. Sgt Pepper's is the most over-produced, over-hyped, and over-rated album in history.
I got introduced to him by way of one of my favorite contemporary jazz pianists, Brad Mehldau. They do a bangin' version of Dylan's Don't Think Twice. Very talented.I sent my sister a different video of Chris this morning because I am trying to convince her to see Nickel Creek with me this summer
That'd be a tough decision for me.Funny enough. Whenever I have to conduct interviews, one of my last questions is "Beatles or Stones?" You can usually tell about people by what they answer.
If you listen to DMB, you are.You should listen to what you like without worrying about other people. That's my advice, but I know it can be hard to abide by.
I am a fan of Dave Matthews Band's music but I don't seem to care for him so much. Mrs Redfoot went to a concert of theirs last year and we were surrounded by douchebags. Every other dude was a spitting image of the bad guy from Wedding Crashers. Made me wonder if I'm a douchebag.
Fair enough. If you listen to DMB, you are.
When I say like, I mean if one of their songs comes on the radio, I’m not gonna turn it, but at the same time, they’re not near one of my favorites and I can’t think of a single time I’ve ever thought “man, I’m in the mood to listen to Tool”Fair enough.
I'd add that if you don't listen to things you like because of other people, you're a pussy.
I chuckle to myself when people say they hate prog rock while listening to Pink Floyd.Fair enough.

It's more than that. I'm recognizing a pattern. When I say like, I mean if one of their songs comes on the radio, I’m not gonna turn it, but at the same time, they’re not near one of my favorites and I can’t think of a single time I’ve ever thought “man, I’m in the mood to listen to Tool”
I listen to a lot of Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry because I like their music even though they were both massive pieces of shit
I can’t listen to Steely Dan after the George Carlin bit though
The Carpenters did Prog Rock better than anyoneI chuckle to myself when people say they hate prog rock while listening to Pink Floyd.
That’s George fucking Carlin putting them down. To be fair, the only Steely Dan songs I really know are “Reeling in the Years” and “Rikki Don’t Lose That Number”. Not bad, but not good enough to get me to dig deeper eitherIt's more than that. I'm recognizing a pattern.

That was a cover of a Klaatu song. They were a prog rock band that some journalist was convinced was the Beatles secretly reunited
The Carpenters did Prog Rock better than anyone
I don’t hate prog rock, I like a lot of it, but it’s not one of my favorite sub genres.
They’re fine. Like I said, I don’t hate it, but prog rock really isn’t my thingRush is Prog Rock kings for me. Coincidentally, I use them for work focus, too; so I guess Tool and Rush are in the same personal musical category for me.
