Conference teams that played 10 P5 opponents in 2022...

How many of those are Alabama and Georgia?

You have the LSU outlier but it's basically 2 teams carrying the load. Lets not pretend the whole conference is constantly knocking on the door of a national title.
But isn't the B1G basically the same? But only tOSU carrying the load for well over a decade with everyone else kind of meh and a rare Michigan run?

Pretty much every conference has 1 or 2 teams carrying the load.

Difference is the rest don't pretend their just good occasionally better than good teams are constantly beating down the door for national titles. The way some SEC people talk you'd think 90% of the conference was in the running for a national title every year.

Have you met Michigan fans? lol

I actually agree on this. I'm proud of the conference, but really hate the "SEC SEC" douchebags.

That's just the CFP though.

Going back to the last 8 years of the BCS (2006 - 2013) the SEC won the NC 7 times.
Alabama (3), Florida (2), LSU (1), Auburn (1).

I'm not "pretending" anything. When other conferences have had their opportunity to beat SEC teams in CFP or NC games they've failed to do so.

I'm not going to argue that the SEC plays just 8 in-conference games to give themselves better rankings and a better shot at reaching NC games, because that's exactly why they do it. However, when an SEC team gets there (which is the vast majority of the time) they win it more often than not.

When the rest of the SEC plays 1 P5 and 3 cupcakes OOC they're gonna have more wins/fewer losses and therefore higher rankings. Ranked teams = SOS.

Not the whole conference, but it does have 3 teams that have won a CFP title, which is triple the amount of teams from other conferences. They've also had 5 teams ranked #1 in the CFP rankings at one point or another, which no other conference has had more than 1 I believe.

The only rankings that matter at all are the last one.

Remember the first CFP playoff when Ole Miss and Miss State both woulda been in the playoff if they just went off the early weeks? :pound:

Hell Auburn was #3 in that very first ranking and finished 8-5

That's because they play fewer SEC conference games.

The league is the one that comes up with the scheduling model. Michigan actively chose not to play UCLA, and instead play ECU and Hawaii. If you're gonna laugh at the SEC, go ahead and laugh at yourself while you're at it.

Sure, but that speaks to the overall depth of the league. It's tough to get to #1 in the country no matter when the ranking is released. Miss State and Tennessee we're both ranked #1 into November. And then they lose to Bama/UGA because everyone else does.

Miss State proceeded to get ran over by Georgia Tech in their bowl game and Ole Miss got absolutely destroyed by TCU (I KNOW I KNOW "THEY DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE!")

Bold isn't true. PAc12 has no one carrying the load. :dhd:

And LOL @ the notion of the SEC struggling in the playoffs.

10-1 in the first round of the playoffs

6-4 in the NCG with two of the losses(and wins) being to another SEC team

Conversely how many 3rd-7th place SEC teams beat another conferences #1 or #2 in a bowl game?

What? Tennessee was awful in 2014. They were definitely never #1 at any time in the CFP era until one week last year. Also, don't forget that they also got destroyed by mediocre South Carolina.

Everyone bitches when the SEC gets two teams in the playoffs, but when they do, both teams win. Don’t recall any bitching about the B1G getting two teams in last season, and they rewarded everyone with both of them losing the first round

Can't speak for the other guys, but I wouldn't be tooting your horn much about our game.
