Conference teams that played 10 P5 opponents in 2022...

The comment you referenced was talking about 2014, and you randomly tossed in a team from 2022. I'm sure you understand my confusion.

They didn't get beat, they got destroyed. Be glad that a lesser team got destroyed so the better team got the CFP nod? Weird, but you also have no proof UT would've gotten in if they could've beaten the mighty 5-loss Gamecocks. We already saw them get smoked by UGA once, why put the nation through it again when you have a better team in OSU to put in there?

Cocks lost 23-10 to a not good 6-7 Missouri team and 38-6 to a bad 6-7 Florida team. They also were non competitive against UGA and Arkansas. Yet we are supposed to pretend like that was some great loss for Tennessee. Lol!

My comment was a shot at mega-conferences. And, 9 is 12.5% more than 8.
It's still 14 teams that aren't all playing each other. Big12 is the only P5 that does it right, but that's because they are(were) tiny.

Now now, we need to "be glad" that Tennessee was destroyed by a 5-loss team, don't forget.

This is the problem. I like the idea of large conferences because you're more likely to have high end games each season, but I also like having the round-robin approach the Big 12 has. Unfortunately it seems like that's going to be a thing of the past very soon.

Unless we go to a lot more games, you won't get to play everyone. It's why we have needed a much larger playoffs forever. Separate the teams that have what it takes each year from those that don't and focus on those matchups. You won't know them until some games are played so a playoff allows you to pick those best each season. Since we are going that route I think it is getting a lot better. The dumbest idea was having everyone play a few based on luck of the draw and then some writers sitting back and picking who did the best of those games.

Google Big 2, little 8. Been going on for decades. Wisconsin's goal is to make it Big 3, little 13.

The confusion here is nobody is trying to talk up the other B1G teams.

The SEC honks still try to act like Florida, Barn & LSU etc (Texas A&M false hype every year) are consistently being great, they arent and havent been for over 10 years. Yes I know LSU won the title a few years ago but they haven't been very good around that.

Nobody is denying that Bama and UGA are constant power houses.

Lol are we really hyping up South Carolina now? They finished 8-5 and lost to fucking Notre Dame in their bowl game. They weren't horrible but I would call them average at best. They also lost by 2 scores to bad Missouri and Florida teams.

I'm not hyping South Carolina. They were a top 25 team. Which is all I said. And again, bowl games are meaningless.

Imagine if these boards and all of us were around back in the 50s with all the inconsistent BS regarding determining national champs.

The bottom ring of the top 25 is always laughable. Anything outside of like the top 12-15 is a mash of average.

Who cares that they finished #23. Look at their overall body of work. It wasn't very good. We all know Clemson was about the worst 11 win team you'll ever see. Of course they got a gigantic boost for beating them as well.

UGA was a laughing stock prior to 2021. LSU has more natties this century than any team not named Alabama

No one except jealous other conference talk about the SEC like you claim. B1G fans do talk about it being a powerful conference but it has 2 teams also.

Who here is making that claim? Ohio State and Michigan are good usually. Penn State is a wildcard but not usually taken seriously, Wisconsin in that same category sometimes. The rest sucks.

Just like the SEC. You have the 2 big dogs, a couple of teams that might threaten every so often and then the rest is a generic mash up of average, mediocre and bad.

this isn’t about one team. It’s about a systemic issue.

Then let an OSU or PSU fan bring it up because they play teams OOC. Your team is literally doing the same thing you're making fun of the SEC for doing.

Who is making that claim? OP for one, in the thread you are posting. This is nothing more than a "B1G better than SEC" thread.
