Conference teams that played 10 P5 opponents in 2022...

What? Tennessee was awful in 2014. They were definitely never #1 at any time in the CFP era until one week last year. Also, don't forget that they also got destroyed by mediocre South Carolina.

Exactly.

The CFP stacked the deck early with SEC teams 3 of the top 4 in the first poll. Not a single one finished in the top 10 in any poll after bowl season

The only polls that matter are the final ones. This is a prime example of why.

And LOL @ the notion of the SEC struggling in the playoffs.

10-1 in the first round of the playoffs

6-4 in the NCG with two of the losses(and wins) being to another SEC team

Once again almost all of this, all but 1, is Alabama and Georgia. Let's stop grouping the whole SEC in with 2 teams. I can admit Bama and UGA are on a different level. It's laughable when you start trying to group the others with them though,

SEC: 2 of 14

This has the potential to take over a certain thread a certain poster used to make….

Miss State proceeded to get ran over by Georgia Tech in their bowl game and Ole Miss got absolutely destroyed by TCU (I KNOW I KNOW "THEY DIDNT WANT TO BE THERE!")

SEC West went 28-0 in OOC during the regular season that year. How do you want to the CFP to rank teams when nobody beat them OOC? And yes, bowl games are meaningless.

How many teams have even made CFP NCG from each conference?

SEC has 3. No other conference has more than one.

The SEC footprint is where all the talent is. That’s why they’re the best

I didn't say Tennessee was ranked #1 in 2014, just that Miss State and Tennessee we're ranked #1 into November. And yeah, they got beat by a top 25 South Carolina team. Be glad they did or they would have been #4.

Everyone bitches when the SEC gets two teams in the playoffs, but when they do, both teams win. Don’t recall any bitching about the B1G getting two teams in last season, and they rewarded everyone with both of them losing the first round

Alabama and Georgia are the best

Outside of LSU one year the rest are meh.

Auburn and Florida have been pretty garbage since the early 2010s outside of maybe a year or two. LSU is wildly inconsistent.

They try to hype up Texas A&M every year but lol we know how that goes.

Now do the B1G

An SEC team has won 4 CFP NC's in a row.
An SEC team has won 6 CFP NC's out of the 9 total.

An SEC team has made it to the CFP championship game 10 times in 9 years.

Also, the SEC doesn't have trouble in the playoffs.

Thank you @ericd7633 for the link. I am a Michigan Alumni and I love my Alma Mater, but that is some bullshit weak action. I am in favor of playing one Respectful P5 Program … the better the better. I can list many teams that would meet that qualification Georgia and Alabama are on the the top of my list.

I was being cynical when talking about the SEC (green font on my phone is beyond my talent)… the SEC is the best conference in college football (proved by wins not opinion).

Still love Michigan - GO BLUE.

I do think the schedule gets tougher after this year.

Lol are we really hyping up South Carolina now? They finished 8-5 and lost to fucking Notre Dame in their bowl game. They weren't horrible but I would call them average at best. They also lost by 2 scores to bad Missouri and Florida teams.

The league is the one that comes up with the scheduling model. Michigan actively chose not to play UCLA, and instead play ECU and Hawaii. If you're gonna laugh at the SEC, go ahead and laugh at yourself while you're at it.
this isn’t about one team. It’s about a systemic issue.

The comment you referenced was talking about 2014, and you randomly tossed in a team from 2022. I'm sure you understand my confusion.

They didn't get beat, they got destroyed. Be glad that a lesser team got destroyed so the better team got the CFP nod? Weird, but you also have no proof UT would've gotten in if they could've beaten the mighty 5-loss Gamecocks. We already saw them get smoked by UGA once, why put the nation through it again when you have a better team in OSU to put in there?

Ohio St plays one team that gets a pulse every 4 or so years (and lately can't even beat that one team) and out here talking about others getting hyped.

:pop2:

He calls me a homer yet goes to the lengths of pumping up South Carolina just to downgrade Ohio State. Go figure.
