Yeah I’m not watching that shit either unless Auburn has Arkansas coming up.

I do like watching Ole Miss with Kiffin and his analytics binder because you never know what bone headed thing he is going to do or if it will work.

Miss State was fun with Leach but I’ve always liked to watch his teams.

Kentucky can be more interesting than you would think especially when working on an upset. Under Stoops you can’t sleep on KY.

its gotta be the only P5 matchup on or have major Big Ten division implications but thats pretty much true for me for any game in any conference.

i have three on at all times on different tvs. for me with Oregon. even when they are losing i keep watching. but i also keep an eye on the score ticker because you never know when a 2019 UCLA WSU game will happen.
but im looking at matchups Vandy vs Missouri isnt even registering for me anymore than Cal Arizona would.
 
i dont get the "scouting" thing.
for all you know a player has a huge game because the match up is there for them against who they play a week or 2 ahead of your team

You don’t have to get it but it definitely is a thing.

I would say the majority of the people I know watch future opponents games to “scout” the team and get an idea of what your team needs to do to win.

When you understand the other team’s tendencies then you will better understand your team’s choices.

Thinking you know what your team needs to do to win and that your opinion on the subject somehow matters is hilarious.
i watched Washington play Michigan state because at the time it seemed like it would be a big game. i didnt need to watch more than a half to know Penix was going to be a problem and didnt need to watch him play 5 more games inbetween that and Oregon to know it either.

I'm not sure what you're trying to defend here.

A large portion of the population in the PAC 12 footprint don't give a crap about college football. That's why the PAC 12 is having a difficult time getting a TV deal.
There's not enough left coast eyeballs tuning in. Due to time zone issues there's not enough eyeballs east of the Rockies tuning in either.

I'm not telling you that. The networks are telling you that.

Again.... People in the Big 10 footprint watch Big 10 games. People in the SEC footprint watch SEC games. People in the Big 12 footprint watch Big 12 games. Do we occasionally stray to a game in another conference? Sure, but we're primarily watching our own conference's teams.
There is also a time zone issue when it comes to people east of the Rockies tuning in to PAC 12 games.

Dude, the WSU AD already came out and said postseason revenue would likely be split unevenly. Do you really think anyone not named Oregon or Washington (the only 2 teams to make the CFP from the PAC) came up with that idea? Obviously the PAC is giving something to try and keep UO and uDub.

its not that a large portion dont care about college football they just dont care about watching the other teams. just want to watch their team. maybe rivalries mean more out west. sounds like you're saying you hate the other teams so much you support them and help their ratings. out here Washington fans are only turning on Oregon games if they catch wind oregon is losing.

then you have people like me that watch games i dont watch SEC games or Pac games or Big games i watch Ohio State vs penn state, i watch OK Vs TX, i watch USC vs Utah, Iron bowl. im not watching Rutgers vs Northwestern, not watching Arizona vs Colorado, not watching Missouri vs Vandy not watching Iowa state vs west virginia

Sure, but eventually that could come. It’s not some unheard of thing for UO and uDub to ask for it.

I'm not saying anything in absolutes but there's a huge difference between allowing the higher performing teams to keep postseason money and giving UO/UW a higher share of the overall media deal. In the postseason model, any school could benefit from that.
