While any could, most wont. I’m actually shocked some still voted for this. It seems obvious this was voted to appease some in the hopes of keeping this conference together. Im saying it shouldn’t shock anyone if media deal revenue being split unequally eventually (if it hasn’t already) comes to the table in the hopes of keeping this conference together fully.

which is not unheard of for bowl participants to receive more than non bowl teams. it would stand to reason a team that makes the playoff would also receive more with that also being based on how far they go.
Oregon and Washington may be the only ones to have made a 4 team playoff but multiple others would have made 12 team

Any team that wins the PAC could benefit from this model. I don't think there are any members of the PAC that have no chance of ever winning the league. Remember, playoff access is almost a guarantee for the conference champion moving forward.

if i remember there was a proposal for the LA schools to get more media money. cant remember if it passed. if it did, it didnt appease them so why would anyone sign off on it with no guarantee it matters. if it didnt pass maybe thats part of why they left.

Keep in mind there is nothing that is keeping UO and uDub from leaving for the B1G should they get an invite. But the thought of while offering it surely wouldnt hurt. (And no, I’m not suggesting the pac does it)

I’m not 100% I’m correct on this but I’m pretty sure the SEC payouts are based on bowls, playoffs, NCAA tournaments etc where the more you earn the more you keep from those pools.

Like the teams get to keep a portion for themselves. For example Bama’s payout is greater than Auburns because of the money they get to keep by being in a bowl.

I’ve got no issue with that.

If this is true (which it is), why would the other PAC schools ever agree to give OR and WA more?

That’s why I was shocked they agreed to this post season revenue split. They are gone anyway, myswell get what you can.

Maybe but anyone could benefit from the post season revenue. That's a huge difference IMO.

When it could of been everyone. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea because that’s how it really should be but With the situation the PAC currently finds itself in I’m still very shocked everyone agreed to this.

I don't believe that is true. The teams do get reimbursed for direct and indirect expenses of attending the bowl games, but I don't think they get more money for going to a bowl.

With the amount of shares in the new CFP skyrocketing in 2026 that might change. But fo the SEC probably not. They seem to be set to be even across the board.

the only 2 teams that have made the 4 team playoff. while had the 4 team been a 12 team all this time Arizona, Stanford, Colorado, and Utah would have made it along with Oregon and Washington. over half the remaining teams.

Hard to fathom, but it checks out.

IN 2014 Arizona (10-3) was ranked 10th by the CFP committee.
In 2016 Colorado (10-3) was ranked 10th by the CFP committee.

Both were 10-2 in the regular season and lost their CCG's.
They also lost their bowl games and both ended up (10-4)

Didn't want to be there.
