We will get there. It took the NFL decades to get a salary cap in place. Won't take as long this time, but the issue is going to be who is going to enforce it. I think it will happen when a few of the larger schools, or maybe a couple of P5 conferences, team up to set the framework for a governing body. Can't be the sham NCAA, but will have to be structured with rules like the other major sports have. It will lead to a CBA and we will get normalcy. But right now when there is no governing body and the NCAA took the stance of just choking the golden goose instead of trying to actually advance the sport, the vacuum has led to a free for all.I’m not saying don’t pay the kids but we have to find a solution to the current environment.
It’s ridiculous that kids are transferring at will right now and putting themselves up for bid.
That is an absolute abomination of what should be happening. Put the kids under contract, pay them a living wage and let’s cut out the theatrics.
Most big basketball programs are not recruiting more than one or two freshman a year now and just picking up players in the portal. 50% or more of Rosters are literally flipping yearly now. It’s beyond ridiculous.
This pain is necessary to help force the need for regulation.
