Texas NIL Bill

It’s humorous you think NIL is the only way you can win, and appear proud of it. SMH. The next time that happens will be the first. Welcome to 4 loss seasons in the SEC.
No it's not the only way but now that it's on the up and up... UT will benefit where they couldn't in the old way as much
Who cares what they do … they are with other big boys now. They can’t run over us. They aren’t the bully any more. Will be fun to watch their reaction when schools like Ole Miss and Vandy exert equal power as them. They are in for a rude awakening.
lol brah, Sankey is in OUR pockets now.. reason why Kirby, Saban all crying for the NCAA to help..cause it's not fair and going to crush CFB lol
tejas has a way of lobbying fellow conference members to vote against the elite.
Since tejas underachieves so much they have to bring goliath down.

When the Big 12 was formed, Nebraska was Goliath. Many votes went 1-11 against the Huskers. One in particular was that Big 12 coaches were limited in how much time they could be out of the office on the recruiting trail. Since Nebraska recruited nationally it affected them greatly. Being king of the talent rich state of Texas, the donghorns knew they'd be least affected by the rule. They could jump in the car and drive just a few hours to recruit and be back that night. Nebraska coaches would have to fly and stay overnights to recruit (i.e. More hours adding up away from the office).
The rest of the Big 12 knew they were essentially cutting off their noses to spite their faces on the rule, but being able to compete with and occasionally beat Nebraska was a big deal to them. OU was down in the dumps at the time, but since they're just a 3 hour drive to the Texas border, and they've always recruited Texas heavily, it wouldn't effect the blueblood Sooners as much as it would Iowa St, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas St. Those teams weren't beating 11-1 Nebraska teams, they were beating 9-4/10-4 (and even lesser) Nebraska teams, but that didn't matter because they were beating blueblood Nebraska who'd been taking them behind the woodshed for decades.

Bama (and recently Georgia) are the SEC elite. It would be a big deal for other SEC members school's, Athletic Depts, Alumni, and Fans to occasionally beat Alabama and Georgia. Even though Tennessee got hammered 63-38 by South Carolina, they got a nice bump in recruiting rankings for this last class after beating Bama.

Not sure what tejas has up their sleeve for when they officially join the SEC in 2024, but you can be sure it'll be something to cause festering trouble, as you said.
LMAOO here you go crying about the coaching time.. Quit leaving out the REASON y'all declined.. no more taking 5th grade reading level kids who can fly with the ball in their hands and give them a scholarship.. what was it ? prop 48 or something..

Reason why everyone voted against that was because it was wrong.. But sure UT lobbied the other schools to do that.. and told them about the drive time with coaches because they needed to take down Nebraska and it was the only way possible.. guess they have the same drive time rule in the BiG too??

I'm not aware of an "Out of the office recruiting time limit" in the Big 10.

Even tOSU has to recruit nationally. Only 7 of their 20 signees (35%) in the 2023 class are from Ohio.

15 of tejas 25 signees (60%) are from Texas. 3 of those 25 were from right next door in Louisiana.

So 18 of the tejas 25 (72%) were within a days driving distance to and from Austin. That's if they even had to drive there to visit mom & pop's living room to give their spiel.

tejas knew exactly what they were doing when they proposed the recruiting time limits. It would effect every conference member not in Texas.
tejas is now leaving, so I expect that rule to be voted out now, with Baylor, TCU, TTU, and Houston being the only one's wanting to keep it since they're comprised of mainly Texas players too.

You guys have been paying players just as much as anyone else. You just weren’t very good at paying the right players. The idea that somehow now you guys are going to be able to pay players, but you could before it was ridiculous. Every major college team paid players, you guys included.

Tell me who we lost, explain how that is half our class, then compare that with how many of them were even playing at the end of the year.
I don't even know what you are talking about? Where did I say you lost half of your class? All I said is you lost multiple 5 star recruits from that top class you signed (Which you did) and that you had 27 guys enter the transfer portal (which you did).

So not sure where you comment is coming from. I just pointed out what happened.

tOSU chooses to recruit nationally. They could fill their recruiting class with blue chip Ohio recruits, but they hand pick the guys they want from the state. They usually have 10-20 blue chip recruits a year from the state of Ohio.

They could sign a top 15 class with just kids from their own state each year, but Urban changed recruiting at OSU and they built pipelines to Florida and Texas, and they are now the place to go for WR's too.

Don't step in to defend the words of the dumbass UGA idiot if you aren't sure what he said, then.

In 2022 six of tOSU recruiting class of 21 kids were from Ohio. One of those 6 was a 3* (OT). A 3* hand picked Bluechip?

In 2021 six of tOSU's recruiting class of 24 kids were from Ohio. One of those was a 3* (S). A 3* hand picked Bluechip?

In 2020 eight of tOSU's recruiting class of 25 kids were from Ohio. Six of those 8 were rated 3* ranging from TE, RB, SDE, OG, OT. Six 3* hand picked Bluechips?

In 2019 five of tOSU's recruiting class of 17 kids were from Ohio. Five of those 17 recruits were out-of-state 3* ranging from S, TE, ATH, DT, OT.

please find anything that said we were even accused of paying players.. Chris Simms $100 handshakes? Bro admit it, it's cool.. Kirby changed UGA by doing what Saban perfected at Bama. Acting like those players came just to compete for a title... c'mon man

Go back and look at all the 5 stars that UT took since 2010/2011.. it's not very many of them and look who was competing for those players.. fast track that to the NIL area..and look at the players we have been able to enroll.. it's a huge difference. It's an even playing field now.

No. I don't think the Big 10 ever had a coaching time limit out of the office. They recruit nationally so hard because they can.

tOSU's been of the elite nationally for 20 years. How/Why would they need to "improve"?

When tejas started flirting with the PAC to gain even more influence over the Big 12, Tom Osborne told them :finger2:

I've always said we paid players ... hell, we gave Hershel one hell of a car to come to UGA. You are the delusional one to think that you guys didn't play the game. You guys were just as dirty as everyone else, you just sucked at deciding who to give the money to.

we really didn't.. lol did you watch the pony express documentary.. FFW to Eric Dickerson.. see what UT pitch was lol

Also even our greatest QB in this millenia..VY.. you think we were in an auction vs Arkansas and....Southern MISS for his signature? UT was the only school who had two compliance offices.. I think UM is the only other major program who handcuffed themselves

I said usually -- 2021 they had 15 blue chips recruits in the state, 2022 they had 14 blue chip recruits, 2023 they had 13 blue chip recruits.

The fact Michigan had more blue chip recruits in 2020 should tell anyone who knows about the area, that 2020 is an anomaly and not the norm.

I know you so desperately want to find something to come at me with, for the simple fact, I correctly called the demise of Nebraska football for leaving to join the B1G, but take a deep breathe and relax.

Not everything is so literal.

Yes, the state of Ohio will usually have 10-20 blue chip recruits, usually means, not always. Out of those top recruits in Ohio -- IF Ohio wants them and recruits them, the overwhelming majority will go to Ohio.

If you don't believe me. Feel free to ask one of the many Ohio fans on this site.

I responded to specific comments you made. I didn't even read UGA's comments and told you as much.

Honest question, did most/all of the B12 in 90’s until Aggy and Corn left recruit Texas heavily?

In the 90s? FSU/ND/LSU/Miami were dominating TX recruiting for the bluechips.. After the death penalty blow to SMU, the SWC was labeled as a dirty conference .. didn't help that the best team at that point (sorry @fordman84 ) also got penalized in the FedEx shakedown.. they had some serious talent on the defensive side.. but they got not just bowl banned but also TV banned FWIW.

Nebraska to my knowledge didn't recruit Texas in their golden era before arriving to the Big12.. thought they recruited more national and really into CA.

However once the Big12 was formed and Mack started to rejuvenate UT football in the state.. it became heavily a Big12 recruiting ground. Oklahoma St recruited very well in Houston and also DFW.. ou always recruited DFW (it's their second home after Norman). What hurt the conference was when aggy left.. it opened the doors to schools like Ole Miss who took players that usually went to Oklahoma St or even Tech..

as the years went on it also hurt UT because they could not get consistent commits among bluechips on the lines.. their best players along the trenches were 3 stars..maybe low 4 stars that blossomed unexpectedly. The higher rated ones never seemed to pan out.
