The official Michigan Owns Ohio State thread

The refs did kinda fuck UM in 2016 vs OHST with not calling an early DPI on 3rd down and several other calls.

Clem had a bad habit of playing to the other team’s level in 2016. They were very beatable. A Clem-UM game would’ve likely been much closer than 31-0.

If Michigan was really good they woulda beat us easily in regulation. We laid a turd sandwich in that game. But they weren't and it ended up going to OT and they lost because of that.

They had a 17-7 lead late in the 3rd against a team that was struggling to do much offensively and could not put the game away.

That should've been defensive holding, but it was back with over 5 minutes left in the first quarter at midfield. It's not like it took points off the board, especially considering how horrendous michigan's offense was that day. Hell, there was a 50/50 chance they'd score a TD or commit a turnover that OSU scores on based on the first half. It's hardly egregious considering the missed calls you see each and every week. Outside of that, there's nothing for michigan fan's to complain about.

You know, other than the 1 play call that should have ended the game and rightfully allowed Michigan to play for a B10 title in Harbaugh's second year instead of OSU fans congratulating Franklin for backing in.

It would have, if JT was actually short. The Big Ten even investigated it and said it was the right call. LOL at your butthurt over not getting preferential treatment from the officials.

They only said so because that was the call on the field. Video clearly showed otherwise. And preferential treatment? We got hosed by the refs that entire game. I don't typically say refs cost us a game, but that game is absolutely a case study in it. And then to have it said that "Franklin won the B10 before Harbaugh" by backing in because of that very call is...absurd.

LOL they reviewed video and said the call on the field was the right call. Sorry you weren't good enough to beat us, it just is what it is.

Nope. THIS is what they said

"The ruling was close enough, Carollo said, that whatever was called on the field would not have been overturned by replay."

This is a lot of rulings, that's how replay works. It's supposed to be 100% conclusive to overturn anything, if it's not you stick with the on field call. This isnt some magical new thing that just came about to "screw" Michigan

And given that the refs had been screwing Michigan all night, pretty interesting that the call went Ohio State's way huh?

"whatever was called on the field would not have been overturned by replay."

So they were right not to overturn it, yeah, we all know.
Weird that whatever called on the field all day was against Michigan?

Even that said, after proper video review Ohio State was short.

Michigan fans think the Big 10 has had a grudge against them for decades, it's pretty comical.
Never said that. I said on that particualr day the refs were screwing us hard. As evidence by the B10 basically saying so.

Bottom line

Michigan couldn't protect a 17-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter against a team that was tripping all over themselves all game. If Michigan was really a upper level team that year, they woulda easily closed that game out. Not allowed it to go to OT and lose.

Sometimes they venture into Ped State level of conspiracy that the refs are out to get them. Very hilarious.
He's just upset his coach needed the training wheels on for 7 years unlike respectable programs where coaches have success in less than half the time.

Bottom line, had the refs not blown multiple calls throughout the game Michigan would have protected the lead and then their blown 4thdown call wouldn't have mattered.

Hell it only took Tressel 2 years and he really inherited a mess. John Cooper left a shit pile behind after his mediocre last 2 years.
