Big 12 thread

Time for the corner again and just wait there until we call you.
I can see the SEC strategically using events in Texas, especially early in Texas’s tenure. SEC wants to put a fence around the state of Texas for recruiting. It’s just smart marketing and that is one thing the SEC sores very well

Sure looks like OU got a nice departing gift from the Big 12 with that schedule. jmo
It’s an absolute joke of a schedule. OU could make 0 improvements from last year and win 9 games

I know the Big12 just extended their deal with Jerryworld to host the CCG through the '31 season.. I saw an article that the SEC were in negotiations with Mercedes Stadium to extend their deal to host the CCG as well (current deal runs through '26)

I wonder if it will be a 5 year extension or another 10 year one.. If they do a 5 year one, perhaps JerryWorld can put an offer to compete with Mercedes.. or maybe the League decides to rotate the game back and forth?

I'm sure the Big12 can continue to play it's CCG there as well.. but maybe on Friday nights when it's Jerryworlds turn to host the game?

I'm not sure a bigger fence can be raised at this time.

Most of the big schools that live off top Texas recruits will be in the SEC.
The SEC is one of two choices for big-time recruits so you are basically competing against B1G schools

Texas is great and all but Georgia and Florida are the hotbeds for most of the SEC and I don't see that drastically changing.

this is an off cycle in TX.. next year will be huge again.. Bama, then aggy got #1 classes because of how deep the state of Texas were in '21 and '22

You're still in the corner sport.

That is silly. The SEC West needs Texas recruiting grounds. SEC brass realized that. LSU and Bama already recruit Texas hard. The real benefit is for the Miss schools, Mizzu (used to recruit Texas hard), and Ark. I am sure Auburn will be in Texas with Hugh Freeze there. It’s those secondary recruits that have can really help those schools. Choking off schools like TCU and Baylor.

It doesn’t have to been a CCG. It can be Media day. It can be neutral site games. Texas is top 3 in producing D1 talent. It’s obviously an important area for the SEC

That would be terrible. They should start out 4-0. Ark State, SMU, Tulsa, and Cincy. Then it’s ISU, Texas, UCF, @ Kansas, @ OSU, WV, @ BYU, and TCU.. I don’t see them going 3-5 vs those 8

ok 8-4 but if it is 7-5 i still get partial credit

These newbies are going to have a real wake up call imo. 3 of them have schedules that are stratospheres tougher then last year.

Looks at your roster

But seriously yeah. UCF has a chance at a bowl but it's going to be a wake up call.
24-19 with almost the same roster. But yeah it may get rough.

Compare UCF, Cincy and Houston’s schedules this Year to last. Wouldn’t be shocked if 3 of 4 don’t see a bowl. And that’s with me thinking 3 of them will beat WVU.
