I can see the SEC strategically using events in Texas, especially early in Texas’s tenure. SEC wants to put a fence around the state of Texas for recruiting. It’s just smart marketing and that is one thing the SEC sores very well

I know the Big12 just extended their deal with Jerryworld to host the CCG through the '31 season.. I saw an article that the SEC were in negotiations with Mercedes Stadium to extend their deal to host the CCG as well (current deal runs through '26)

The SEC is one of two choices for big-time recruits so you are basically competing against B1G schools
Texas is great and all but Georgia and Florida are the hotbeds for most of the SEC and I don't see that drastically changing.

That is silly. The SEC West needs Texas recruiting grounds. SEC brass realized that. LSU and Bama already recruit Texas hard. The real benefit is for the Miss schools, Mizzu (used to recruit Texas hard), and Ark. I am sure Auburn will be in Texas with Hugh Freeze there. It doesn’t have to been a CCG. It can be Media day. It can be neutral site games. Texas is top 3 in producing D1 talent. It’s obviously an important area for the SEC

That would be terrible. They should start out 4-0. Ark State, SMU, Tulsa, and Cincy. Then it’s ISU, Texas, UCF, @ Kansas, @ OSU, WV, @ BYU, and TCU.. I don’t see them going 3-5 vs those 8
